BURTON & SOUTH DERBYSHIRE FEDERATION.
Fantastic performance by Russ Bailey sees him take the top five out of Marlborough (2).
Saturday August 17th saw 44 members send 901 birds to the second visit to the Wiltshire town of Marlborough.
Birdage was well down, especially at Swadlincote Town; I know there is some young bird sickness dong the rounds, but I think some members were just playing it careful after their losses the week previous?
Saturday dawned a lovely day, and Alys cut the strings at 09-10 in a light N.W. wind, here in Burton there was clear blue skies first thing, but just before the birds arrived home there was some cloud cover.
Once again some birds made hard work of it, but overall returns were good from what I heard?
A fantastic performance by Russ Bailey of the Holbrook club, who has his yb team in really fine fettle. Well you could say he had a day to remember? Earlier in the day, again racing out of Marlborough, this time with the North Derbyshire SR Fed, he had 19 on the drop, and I’m led to believe Russ will take the top 19 in the fed?
