BURTON & SOUTH DERBYSHIRE FEDERATION.

Graham Evans takes top spot out of a testing Weymouth race to conclude the 2025 OB season.

For the final race of the 2025 Old Bird season, once again, due to a poor forecast, racing was put back 24 hours. 50 Members from 8 clubs sent 834 birds to Weymouth which were liberated by Alys at 11-20 in a North West wind, there was plenty of North in it and the birds had a testing flight home. Speaking around the fed, returns were gappy, but very good; but like I said, it was a testing day.

Congratulations to Graham Evans of the Castle Gresley club on taking 1st fed on 1375 with a 4yo Pencil Wildemeersch cock; he’s a grandson of “Firecracker”; this pencil cock also won the Fed Truro race this season; this cock covered the 150 mile trip in 3 hours 12 minutes; well done Graham.
