BURTON & SOUTH DERBYSHIRE FEDERATION.
Mark Nesbitt takes 1st and 2nd Fed out of Bath.
Saturday April 25th should have seen our birds at Marlborough, but due to the site being unavailable we moved over to Bath (Walcott).
Once again the weather behaved itself, and Alys liberated the 1355 birds entered by 62 members from 8 clubs at 11-40 in a light Variable wind. There was a cloudless blue sky with plenty of warm sunshine and a very light breeze. Once again the leading birds made light work of their journey home, but again most lofts had a few birds missing at clocks?
Congratulations to Mark Nesbitt of Rugeley, flying at Hill Ridware, he took 1st; 2nd and 5th fed on 1599; 1595; 1582; the fed topper was a yearling Cheq hen; she is the same way bred as the 3 x sisters who have all topped our federation. Her sire is a son of Adam Wealthall’s “Snowball” and her dam is the top Hereman hen that topped our fed 4 x times and was Pigeon of the year in our fed three years on the trot. Runner up was a yearling White grizzle hen; she was 2nd in the fed Futurity race last year winning £1457. Her sire is out of a son of Adam Wealthall’s top Lambrecht “Grizzly Bear” when paired to a daughter of mark’s Champion Hereman hen “Isla”; the mother of the grizzle is a Gust Jansenne out of the “Olympiade 003” line. 5th fed was a yearling blue Hereman hen out of “Young Opal”.

The dam is a pencil pied; she has bred 2 x fed toppers, she was bred by a Belgian policeman who has very good blood red birds, but Darren can’t remember his name. Darren says this hen is the broadest pigeon he’s ever owned, as wide as it is long nearly. He was followed by a 2yo Blue Cattrysse cock that was bred by Tony & Lee Painter off a son off “Taffy” and a granddaughter of “King Arthur”. “King Arthur” was the super Colin Lloyd Cattrysse cock, a winner of over £4500 racing.
