In my own loft
After over a week shut in, I managed to get them out for loft exercise 3 times, I took a risk and sent them this week. Although they were off pace and gappy I was pleased to see they all come home. Hopefully, we will see some improvements in the coming weeks.
Mark and Becky Pass, Wrenbury.
Mark is a good friend and was instrumental in getting the Bird Flu restrictions lifted in my area. I was saddened to hear he has a young bird fly away, which is not something you hear of much nowadays. Mark’s young birds had been exercising well but then all went in one fly away. I was disappointed I had no young birds to offer Mark but was pleased to see another friend and top fancier Ben Oakley come to the rescue and gifted Mark 9 young birds. Mark and Becky’s son Fraser is keen as mustard on the pigeons; I have included a photo of him holding one of young birds. Well done Ben on your generosity.
Fraser Pass with gifted young bird
Then another bit of great news as Mark and Becky took 1st and 2nd Wrenbury Club (8/205). Even better I bred the second club. Well done.
Welsh South East National
Well done to Talent and Westbury, Martin is Provisionally 1st North Section from Maidstone.
Neil Andrews
I’d like to congratulate my friend Neil on some recent NRCC performances, Neil usually enjoys sprint racing which he is extremely successful at but has tried his hand at NRCC this year. In the first race from Dunbar (306 miles) he scored 3rd and 7th Section H. Then in the second race from Perth (348 miles) he scored 1st, 2nd, and 10th Section H. The section winner was same bird that was 3rd section in first race and incredibly had been attacked by a hawk on her journey home. A photo is included that Neil sent me after timing. Well done, Neil, and now onto the next one.
Neil Andrew's 3rd and 1st Section H - NRCC
