STAINMORE

Once again the Solway Federation (100/2,857) were down at Stainmore on Saturday 11th August. Liberated at 10.45am into a fresh North-East wind, the birds homed well with velocities into the 2,000s. It was another good race for returns and most fanciers had them all home within the hour, in fact Davy Robinson of Lockerbie had a drop of over forty birds! Springfield had the best of things and the lofts of Gordon Grant & Son cleaned up. They had eight birds in the Federation top ten with six of them having velocities of over 2,000 (only eight birds in total managed this)! W.F.Van Nuil and D.& P.Skelton, both from Springfield as well, filled the Fed’s top ten.
