The Solway Federation (84/925) had a come-back race from Lymm on Saturday 15th June. The birds were liberated at 8.45am into a strong South-West wind (at the home end). The 925 birds homed in well with velocities high in the 1500s. One bird actually broke the 1500 and that was timed by Langholm’s R V Graham who timed his leading bird on a velocity of 1618. The Open ten results are split between Langholm and Springfield.

Hoddam F.C. 7/69
Having a good race this week is the loft of G Dalgliesh & Son (Stevie), they timed six birds in the first ten to take 1st, 3rd and 4th Club doing 1496, 1462 and 1461. Jimmy Dalgliesh takes the 2nd spot on 1467.
Springfield H.C. 7/87
This is the sixth race that Raymond White has won this season. He timed a yearling Dark Cock doing 1586. Raymond also takes 2nd on 1556. Mr & Mrs Gus Power are 3rd and 4th doing 1555 and 1550.
Langholm H.C. 3/65
Yet another win here for R V Graham he takes 1st, 2nd and 4th on velocities of 1618, 1573, 1571.
D Norton is 3rd doing 1572.
Lockerbie H.C. 7/80
After a slight hiccup last week the loft of George & Linsey Firth are right back in form taking 1st, 2nd and 3rd with velocities of 1545, 1544 and 1537.
Ewan Hind & Allan take 4th spot doing 1475.
Annan H.C. 10/71
C P Irving takes this one timing two good birds to take 1st and 3rd on 1382 and 1372. Angus Simmons is 2nd on a velocity of 1380.
Well done to G W Campbell he nips into 4th spot doing 1366.
Eastriggs H.C. 11/130
The McMorrin Bros lead the way this week winning the race on 1470, followed by J Martin on 1443.
E Hodgson & Sons are flying well after moving their lofts to a new site and this week were 3rd and 4th doing 1438 and 1431.
Brydekirk H.C. 8/109
A good win here for R J R Renwick, Rab timed the leading three with velocities of 1495, 1477 and 1469.
Scott Irving Jnr (Loft 1) came next on 1440.
Dumfries F.C. 13/175
Yet another win for the lofts of Krause & Charteris, in fact they timed the leading four into the Club to take 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th Club as well as 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 7th West Section on velocities of 1377, 1371, 1369 and 1353 (Good flying from 175 birds competing).
Taking 5th Club and 9th Section is Terry Richardson doing 1345.
Nith Valley H.C. 13/116
Well done to the Russell family they cleaned up this week.
J Russell leads the field taking 1st and 3rd Club, 4th and 6th Section on 1369 and 1363.
G Russell takes 2nd Club, 5th Section doing 1368 and it’s A Russell in 5th spot as well as 10th Section on 1338.
W J Smith nipped in to take 4th Club, 8th Section with a velocity of 1348. Hard luck for the Russells, they nearly had a full house!
Dalbeattie H.C. 5/23
It’s N McCulloch & Son winning here. They timed three good birds to take 1st, 3rd and 4th Club with velocities of 1155, 1087 and 1086.
Their winner this week is a yearling Mealy Hen that had won Stafford a few weeks back.
C Milligan takes the 2nd spot doing 1110.
