SOLWAY NEWS

By Jimmy Graham

The Solway Federation (93/1236) were down at Cheltenham on Saturday 1st June 2013. They were liberated at 07.45am into a light North-West wind. The race itself was a real tester and once again there were many losses throughout the Federation. The leaders were bang on the expected time but the follow up was poor. I myself dropped five and others a lot more but that’s pigeon racing for you.

Once again the Federation was won over in Langholm with R V Graham timing two to take 1st and 2nd Open. Ralston’s winner in this one was out on its own doing 1238 and his second one 1201, both birds being yearlings.

A Henderson nips into 3rd spot doing 1198 and timing a second one on 1197.5. Derek Nordon is 4th Open on 1197.1.

Other Federation winners are 6th Open George & Linsey Firth from Lockerbie doing 1191.

Mr & Mrs J Graham of Hoddam are 7th Open on 1189. J Little also Hoddam is 8th and 9th doing 1188, 1187. S Irving of Brydekirk is 10th on 1181.

A Henderson is 3rd doing 1198 and D Norton is 4th doing 1197.
