SOLWAY NEWS
By Jimmy Graham
The Solway Federation convoy of 2,798 birds were liberated at 10.00am from Lymm into a light North-West wind on Saturday 12th May 2012.
It was a cold day at the home end but the birds homed well to cover the 130 mile course and made it to most lofts in about two and three quarter hours. With velocities into the 1300s, returns weren’t too bad.
Leading the way into the Federation was the loft of R.V.Graham of Langholm. Ralston timed the leading two on velocities of 1341 and 1329, both birds being Blue Bar Cocks, a two-year old and a yearling.
