The Solway Federation (88/2415) was down at Ingleton on Saturday 9th August, a distance of seventy-one miles from my loft. They birds were liberated at 10.15am into a light West wind. The leading ten birds in the Fed all had velocities in the 1300s. Topping the Federation this week is Springfield Club, they had five fanciers in the top ten. Lockerbie had four and Hoddam one. S Allen was 1st and 2nd Fed with velocities of 1332.8 and 1322.0. Gordon Grant & Son had two to take 3rd and 4th doing 1320 and 1319. Lockerbie fancier K Thomson had the next three on 1311, 1310.9 and 1310.3. Mr & Mrs G Power of Springfield were 8th doing 1308.
Mr & Mrs J Graham of Hoddam are 9th doing 1300 and GA & L Firth from Lockerbie 10th on 1297.
West Section (31/737)
Nith Valley had the leading nine birds in the West Section with A Russell taking pole position with a velocity of 1173.
Albert Hay had three in the ten to take 2nd, 8th and 9th doing 1168, 1110 and 1094. G Russell is 3rd and 4th on 1136 and 1131.
W J Smith is 5th on 1129 and A Russell 6th doing 1125.
Skachill & McCormack are 7th on 1120 and finally Stanley Boyd takes the 10th position doing 1088.

Brydekirk H.C. 7/292
Once again it's S I Irving taking the leading four birds on velocities of 1197.3, 1197.2, 1197.1 and 1197.
Springfield H.C. 8/278
Timing the winner here and having a good race taking the Federation winner as well is S Allen, he was 1st and 2nd Club doing 1322.8 and 1322.0.
Gordon Grant & Son are 3rd and 4th with velocities of 1320 and 1319.
Langholm H.C. 5/121
R V Graham had a good race here as well and took 1st, 3rd and 4th on velocities of 1274, 1266 and 1261. D Nordon is 2nd doing 1267.
Eastriggs H.C. 11/388
Well done to G Turnbull who had a drop of two to take 1st and 2nd Club with velocities of 1239.7 and 1239.4.
W Pirie takes 3rd and 4th doing 1205.6 and 1205.3.
Hoddam F.C. 7/181
Mr & Mrs J Graham wins this one on a velocity of 1300 with a gift bird from Michael Currie of Moffat. This bird is the nest mate of last week's winner. My next bird took 2nd Club with a velocity of 1259.
G Dalgliesh & Son are 3rd doing 1252 and John Gilmour takes 4th on 1250.
Lockerbie H.C. 9/168
Kenny Thomson timed the leading three birds into Lockerbie with velocities of 1311, 1310.9 and 1310.3.
GA & L Firth take the 4th spot doing 1297.
Annan H.C. 10/250
It's nice to see P E Heslop taking the Red card here with a velocity of 1120, followed by A Simmons doing 1115.
R & M Seaton are 3rd on 1112 and back in at 4th is A Simmons.

Dumfries F.C. 13/368
Stanley Boyd takes this one doing 1088, followed by Mr & Mrs Karl Gunther and Grandson on 1080. Jim Seaton had the next two with velocities of 1078 and 1071.
Nith Valley F.C. 11/255
A Russell leads the way here winning on 1173, followed by Albert Hay in 2nd spot doing 1168. G Russell is 3rd and 4th on 1136 and 1131.
