SOLWAY NEWS

Lymm - August 2014
The Solway Federation (67/1237) was down at Lymm on Saturday 23rd August. The birds were liberated at 10.00am into a light North-East wind and they homed with velocities into the 1100s. Many losses were reported throughout the Federation but I guess that's to be expected with all the trouble caused with strong West winds and the B.O.P. Anyway back to the Federation winners and here we find it's the East side having the best of things.
East Section
G A & L Firth of Lockerbie timed the first two birds on velocities of 1181.9 and 1181.6, followed by S Allen of Springfield taking 3rd and 4th doing 1181.5 and 1173. S J Irving of Brydekirk takes 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th Open on velocities of between 1170 to 1168. Eastriggs fancier W Pirie is 9th on 1164 and Springfield Club is back in again with Mr & Mrs Gus Power taking 10th on 1164.
West Section
Albert Hay tops the West Section and had four birds in the list being 1st, 6th, 7th and 8th with velocities of 1109, 1067, 1065 and 1055. Mr & Mrs Karl Gunther & Grandson take 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Federation with velocities of between 1087 to 1071. Jim Seaton is 9th and 10th doing 1042.8 and 1042.7.
