Stafford - August 2014
The Solway Federation (49/621) was down at Stafford on Saturday 30th August. As you can see the birdage is way down with only 621 making the journey this week. The birds were liberated at 11.30am into a light West wind and the leading birds homed with velocities into the 1200s. Losses were reported all throughout the Federation and most fanciers are calling it a day for this season and putting them by for another. Springfield fancier Steve Allen tops the field with his good Blue Cock 7039. I believe it's topped the Federation yet again and as before he thanks Steve Fench from East London for the birds.

S Allen of Springfield takes 1st doing 1255, followed by Mr & Mrs J Graham from Hoddam taking 2nd spot on 1239.
Ewan Hind of Lockerbie is 3rd with 1235 and G A & L Firth also Lockerbie takes 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th Open with velocities of between 1235 to 1228.
S J Irving from Brydekirk had the last two positions of 9th and 10th doing 1221 and 1220.
West Section
Mr & Mrs Karl Gunther & Grandson of Dumfries take 1st and 4th with velocities of 1131 and 1079.
A Hay of Nith Valley is 2nd doing 1097 followed by G Russell also Nith Valley taking 3rd on 1084.
Jim Seaton from Dumfries takes 5th, 6th and 9th with velocities of 1077.5, 1077.3 and 1073.
R A Brown, Dumfries is 8th doing 1073 and W J Smith of Nith Valley takes 10th position doing 1064.

Lockerbie H.C. 7/110
Well done to Ewan Hind who takes the Gold in Lockerbie with a velocity of 1235, followed by GA & L Firth, who took the next three with velocities of 1229.6, 1229.1 and 1229.0.

Hoddam F.C. 6/65
Winning their third race from the five so far are Mr & Mrs J Graham. I timed this week to take 1st and 2nd with good velocities of 1239 and 1166.
John Little takes 3rd on 1129 and G Dalgliesh & Son are 4th doing 1118.
Annan H.C. 7/56
It's another win for W Borthwick who timed the leading bird with a velocity of 1101, followed by J Muir & Son (Loft 2) doing 1099.
Steve Ferguson is 3rd on 1095 and G Hope takes 4th with a velocity of 1089.
Brydekirk H.C. 5/130
Scot Irving (Loft 1) is having the time of his life winning yet again and taking the leading four again with velocities of between 1221 to 1166.
Eastriggs H.C. 3/30
W Pirie wins this one with a velocity of 120, followed by G Turnbull taking 2nd and 4th doing 1158 and 1102. Jim Ferguson takes 3rd on 1136.
Langholm H.C. 3/46
Once again it's a clean sweep here for Ralston Graham taking the leading four birds with velocities of between 1140 to 1113.
Springfield H.C. 6/42
S Allen takes the Gold here as well as being the Club winner he also wins the Federation. His winner has already won three races, this time on a velocity of 1255. Well done Steve!
R White takes the 2nd spot doing 1130. D & P Skelton are 3rd on 1129 and Mr & Mrs Gus Power take 4th doing 1128.
Dumfries F.C. 6/60
Same here, once again it's Mr & Mrs Karl Gunther and Grandson taking 1st and 2nd doing 1131 and 1079, followed by Jim Seaton taking the next two on velocities of 1077.8 and 1077.6.
Nith Valley F.C. 6/52
Albert Hay continues his winning streak as well and wins with a velocity of 1097.
G Russell is 2nd on 1084 and W J Smith is 3rd doing 1064.
