BURTON & SOUTH DERBYSHIRE FEDERATION.

Russ Bailey takes top two out of a rapid Blandford.

Saturday June 14th saw 60 members from 8 clubs enter 870 birds for the third visit to the Dorset town of Blandford Forum. Birdage was down this week, due to the fed also holding a race from Truro, which was optional and not part of the fed Programme and averages.

Alys had the strings cut and the birds were away at 10-50 in a South West wind, a fast race was on the cards and the birds made light work of their journey home with the leading birds exceeding 66mph and Holbrook lofts at the top end of the fed took the top positions.

Congratulations to Russ Bailey on taking 1st & 2nd fed on 1941.7; 1941.5; the fed topper a yearling Cooreman hen gifted to Russ by club mate Glyn Stone out of the Trevor Jennings Cooremans Glyn purchased off Trevor when he called it a day. She was closely followed by a 3yo Mark Williamson x M/M K Lycett hen. Well done Russ.
