BURTON & SOUTH DERBYSHIRE FEDERATION.
Mark Nesbitt continues his red hot form taking the first eight out of Weymouth (1).
For our first visit to the coastal town of Weymouth in Dorset this year, racing was put back 24 hours due to a forecast of thundery showers on the Saturday.
Sunday dawned a much brighter day, albeit on the cool side, and Alys liberated the 1065 birds entered by 59 members from 8 clubs at 09-50 in a West North West wind. Birdage was slightly down this week due to races being held by the MNFC and NMCC.
Another brilliant performance by D.Nesbitt & Sons of Hill Ridware, Mark had eight on the drop, timed in a 5 second burst and these filled the top eight positions in the fed, absolutely outstanding flying. The fed topper for the THIRD time in the last four races was the yearling dark hen “54”; she recorded a winning velocity of 1624.3. She can now add Weymouth to Salisbury and Blandford fed wins. Her sire is off the Leo Hereman cock “Tommy” and her dam is a grand daughter of Adam Wealthall’s champion Lambrecht “Snowball”.
