BURTON & SOUTH DERBYSHIRE FEDERATION.

C T Leadbeater & Sons make it back to back Fed Wins out of Blandford (1).

Saturday August 23rd saw 54 members from 8 clubs send 671 birds to the Dorset Town of Blandford Forum. Again we never had a straight forward race, the leading birds made about the time we expected, but once again a lot of the young birds made their way home late afternoon and into the evening, with plenty of those missing at nightfall making their way home Sunday morning. The earlier liberations seemed to have good racing and returns, we weren’t up late; don’t get me wrong; but something went amiss somewhere? The winds were very light, there was no rain about, just cloud cover, but that wasn’t dark cloud? I do know that numerous birds again returned home with damage to them caused by the Falcons!

Alys liberated the fed birds at 11-10 in a light ESE wind and a good day for C T Leadbeater & Sons of Hill Ridware who made it back to back fed wins, taking six of the fed top 10 positions and had 8 in the top twenty, well done Brian.
