BURTON & SOUTH DERBYSHIRE FEDERATION.

Alan Stretton of Swadlincote Town takes 1st Fed out of Marlborough (1).

Saturday May 2nd was another lovely racing day for our birds out of the Wiltshire town of Marlborough, warm sunshine and a light Southerly wind gave us a very good race with the South Derbyshire lofts dominating the result this week; taking the top eight open positions.

Alys liberated the 1388 birds entered by 65 members from 8 clubs at 10-55 in a SSE wind turning SSW en route.

Congratulations to Alan Stretton of Swadlincote Town, Alan had surprisingly been off the pace in the opening two weeks, basically down to the fact he only widowed his cocks after the opening race; but he hit some form this week to take 1st fed on 1691 with a yearling mealy cock.  The sire from Mark Williamson out of the Eijerkamp “Justus” and “Flanders Beauty”; the dam a mealy; was bred by Neil Harvey and is bred down from the Van den Bulck “Greipel” line from James Parker of Reading; well done Alan.
