Lanarkshire Federation-Wooler 2 " A League of their Own"
This week the communication came through on Wednesday that this week we would race mark Thursday for a Friday.
The race point was Wooler in Northumberland, North East of England, flying back into lower Central Scotland.
The birds were liberated at 9am in a light south east wind for the 77 miles back to this week’s winning loft.
The winners took 1hr and 24 minutes to record a winning velocity of 1628ypm.
The name Macaloney is world re-nowned for being the best at their trade, breeding and racing quality racing pigeons.
Their results will never be matched in Lanarkshire and will only be bettered by themselves.
Paul took a break from the pigeons before returning with his new team who have started this season in brilliant form, leaving the rest of us trailing in their wake.
I fly in the same federation and try every week to be my best as do the other fanciers but we all fall short of the Macaloney's.
They just don't win but have multiple pigeons together to dominate the leader board here in the Lanarkshire federation, which to my knowledge is still up with the biggest federations in the land.
Last week they take the top 10 in the Open federation and this week take the top 8 of the Open federation.
Recording 20 of their 28 entry in the top 100 from 4,116 convoy.
To date the new Mac-Blizzard family has won 5 x 1st Open in 7 races.
This week’s winner is a direct daughter of The Maniac when paired to The New Beyl hen .Macaloney x De Ridder cross.
Paul has already stated that he will only compete up to 200 miles with this team with a view to creating a Champion Sprint racing team and hopefully find a champion pigeon that will be the compete with the best in Europe.
Well done to Paul and Charlene Macaloney who continue to be in a league of their own!
