Lanarkshire Federation - Wooler 1 Race 27-4-25
Welcome everyone to the new season and with great expectations of a good racing season for all members we move into the twelve race Old bird programme starting at 75 miles through to around 370 miles.
Well not to plan we had to delay race marking for 24hrs for the better of our feathered friends.
The 3,300 Lanarkshire birds and 12 other crates of others in convoy were liberated at 10 30 am in a south west wind from Wooler in Northumberland flying back into lower Central Scotland.
The winner took 1hr 48 minutes for 81 miles to record a velocity 1315ypm into the North of the federation.
The winners are Law & Brady, Shug and Mark are delighted in their very first race in Lanarkshire to win 1st sect,1st Open with their talented Cheq C who last year also won Newark in his previous club and 10th section from Newark as a late bred pigeon. His season was over last season returning injured from the first Inland National.
The partnership also had an excellent 3rd Sect,3rd Open with a DCC.
The breeding of the winner is Sire is a Romain Klein lines from Stuart Knowles.
Dam is Woodroffe hen purchased from George Harris
Well done to two hard working guys, I think they will do well in the Lanarkshire!
The race like most first races was a bit erratic but generally returns were good for a first race.
