This week again the weather forecast was troubling our race controller and the decision was to race mark Saturday for a Sunday race.

The convoy of 1700 federation pigeons and 14 other crates were away at 08 45 in a light west wind flying from Alnwick in Northumberland.

This week’s winner took 2hrs 19 minutes for the 100 miles with a velocity of 1273ypm to the very much in form loft of Young & Kelly of Chryston club in the North section of the federation.

Their 1st sect,1st Open federation winner is a very consistent pigeon and has never let them down ,having raced every young bird race and every race this season.

This week’s 1st North sect,1st Open federation for Young & Kelly of Chryston club.

He is raced on the widowhood system and is bred from Peter Fox x Willy Jacobs .Sire is from a son of  King of Diamonds from Mr & Mrs Delaney at O Roory Hill Stud. The Dam is from a daughter of Foxy Lady.

The partnership also won 2nd,5th sect,2nd Open federation

The partnership of Stuart Young and Karl Kelly who only joined the federation for YB racing last season have already  established themselves as one of the top lofts winning the federation YB averages.

With multiple federation section prize winners ,week in week out, and three section wins including 1st Open federation .

And around twenty top fifteen section prizes since the start of the season.

The race itself was much better for returns with most birds returning in the first hour.

So next week will see us back at a longer event from Kettering around 280 miles back into lower Central, Scotland.
