Lanarkshire News - Alnwick Race

This week takes us to Alnwick ,Northumberland in the North East of England.

The weather was perfect .possible to good, as pure blue sky days aren't always good for racing.

Convoy of  5,334 birds and 15 other crates were liberated at 08 15 in a light South west wind.

The race itself was a great success with the birds returning consistently within the first hour into lower Central, Scotland.

This week’s winner is again the red hot partnership of James Green & Son of Burnbank club in the west section of the federation.

The winner took 1 hr 49 minutes for the 94 miles ,recording a winning velocity of 1520ypm

Their 2yr old Cheq C pigeon has been a very consistent bird and is out of Wily Jacobs x Sean Hunt lines

His sire had 5 x 1st clubs and is from their old Jacobs lines .The hen was purchased from Gerry McCourt from Sean Hunt.

Next week race point has been changed to Darlington from Thirsk due to bird flu restrictions.

YB Gold Ring Scheme 

All Gold rings numbers have to be supplied to federation secretary Jim Cameron by 24th May (No Exceptions).Cost is £10 per ring with a maximum of six rings per loft. Race is Thirsk 6th September, in event  of race not being Thirsk it will be last race.
