Ingleton
Ingleton was a new site for the Solway Federation (95/1929) on Saturday 27th April 2013. Liberated at 11.00am into a light North-East wind, things looked good at the home end but with a North-East wind you could expect anything to happen and happen it did. Lots of late arrivals were reported and by the end of the day things weren’t any better. I myself lost five but others weren’t so lucky but as mentioned before with this wind direction we always have trouble.
Dumfries fanciers got the best of things with nine birds in the leading ten Open Federation result.
G.Russell of Nith Valley took the gold timing a two-year old Blue Pied Hen with a velocity of 1165.
Mr & Mrs Karl Guenther and Grandson of Dumfries F.C. take 2nd and 10th Open on 1165 and 1126.
J.McNaught of Dumfries F.C. is 3rd Open doing 1163.
R.Stewart from Nith Valley is 4th doing 1162.
Krause & Charteris, Dumfries F.C. take 5th and 6th Open doing 1140 and 1138.
G.A.& L.Firth, Lockerbie are 7th Open on 1086; this bird also won 1st East Section.
A.Russell, Dumfries F.C. is 8th Open on 1128.
J.Russell, Dumfries F.C. takes 9th Open doing 1126.

Another good win for Jimmy Dalgliesh timing to win his second race with a velocity of 1083, Jimmy’s timer this week was a four-year old Blue Hen. He also timed a second one to take 4th doing 1069.
John Little takes 2nd spot on 1075 and G.Dalgliesh & Son take 3rd on 1074.
Lockerbie H.C. 8/168
G.A.& L.Firth take the Gold once again, making it two in a row for the partnership. They timed two good birds, both yearlings to take 1st and 3rd Club as well as winning the East Section with good velocities of 1131 and 1086, well done!
Kenny Thomson (who is never far away) takes 2nd spot on 1105 and Davy Robinson is 4th doing 1084.
Springfield H.C. 8/186
Mr & Mrs Gus Power timed two to take 1st and 4th Club on 1103 and 1069. Gus timed a four-year old Blue Cock.
Brian Glendinning comes in 2nd doing 1059. G.Grant & Son take the 3rd spot on 1020.
Langholm H.C. 5/123
A second win here as well for R.V.Graham timing a two-year old Dark Chec Cock on a velocity of 1101. Ralston actually took the first four positions doing 1101, 1064, 1061 and 1060.
Brydekirk H.C. 6/124
Ewart Warwick took this one doing 1089, followed by R.J.B.Renwick on 1049. H.Dobie was 3rd doing 1046. J.M.Dalgliesh came in 4th on 1035.
Annan H.C. 14/334
J.F.McCarton the ‘Pipeman’ also makes it two in a row; he timed to take the Gold on 1077.
Crombie & Mechan are 2nd doing 1046. Angus Simmons who was second last week came in 3rd this week on 1036. Crombie & Mechan come in again to take 4th doing 1015.
Eastriggs H.C. 11/177
Nelson & Holladay time the winner here with a velocity of 1047, followed by John Pollock who timed two taking 2nd and 4th on 1013 and 1002. J.Martin is 3rd on 1009.
Dalbeattie H.C. 4/92
Flying Widowhood for the first time as well as flying into a brand new loft is fancier Carl Milligan. Carl takes 1st and 2nd in the opening race from Appleby last week. His two birds recording good velocities of 1100 and 1099.
W.Anderson came in 3rd on 1070 and N. McCulloch & Son are 4th doing 1070 as well.
This week (5/92) for the second race it’s Carl Milligan once again, this week doing 974 with a wee bit to spare over N. McCulloch & Son who were 2nd on 953.
W.Anderson timed the next two doing 954 and 952.
Nith Valley H.C. 13/245
G.Russell is on a high this week by taking 1st Club, 1st West Section, and 1st Open with a velocity of 1167. The winning bird being a two-year old Blue Pied Hen.
R.Stewart is 2nd on 1162. A.Russell takes 3rd on 1128 then J.Russell 4th doing 1126. Well done to the Russell family!
Dumfries F.C. 11/226
A good win here for Mr & Mrs Karl Guenther & Grandson they take 1st Club on 1165 followed by J.McNaught in 2nd postion with a velocity of 1163.
Krause & Charteris are 3rd and 4th Club on 1140 and 1138.
Annan & District Premier.
The Club was down at Appleton for their first race of the season and leading the way was Mr & Mrs Roy Seaton who took the first two positions doing 1049 and 996.
Scaife & Garner were 3rd on 987 and Mr & Mrs Chris Little were 4th doing 958.
