The Solway Federation (104/1781) was down at Stafford on Saturday 17th May. Liberated at 08:30 into a no wind report the birds homed well with velocities into the 1500s. Once again Langholm had the best of things with R V Graham taking five of the ten diplomas. The top ten are R V Graham 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 10th doing 1553, 1549, 1503, 1501 & 1495. G Grant & Son are 4th & 8th doing 1503 & 1499, W F Van Nuil are 6th doing 1507 and D Nordon is 9th on 1498.

Springfield H.C. 7/193
Another good win for G Grant & Son, he times to be 1st & 4th club doing velocities of 1503 & 1499. Followed by W F Van Nuil in 2nd spot doing 1501, Raymond White is 3rd doing 1500.
Hoddam F. C. 9/184
Another win for Mr & Mrs J Graham, this week I timed a dark yearling cock on a velocity of 1464. John Little takes 2nd spot on 1462. John Gilmour is 3rd on 1460 and G Dalgliesh & Son 4th on 1457.
Lockerbie H.C. 8/150
It’s their second win for the lofts of G & L Firth, they had a good velocity of 1490. Ewan Hind & Son nipped into 2nd spot on 1456 and Kenny Thomson has the next two doing velocities of 1447 & 1439.
Eastriggs F.C. 15/306
J Beattie takes this one doing 1454 with E Hodgson & Sons in 2nd spot doing 1451. G Turnbull takes 3rd on 1449 and C Halbert 4th on 1420.
Brydekirk H.C. 7/171
Taking the first three positions is R J R Renwick, his velocities being 1437, 1429.6 and 1429.5. S J Irving Jnr is 4th doing 1420.
Annan H.C. 16/256
It’s that man again Angus Simmons winning again with a velocity of 1417. J Willacy had a good race timing to take 2nd, 3rd and 5th doing 1412, 1404 and 1399. The winner comes in again to take 4th on 1400.
Langholm F.C. 4/104
A clean sweep for R V Graham he timed the leading four with velocities of 1553, 1549, 1503 and 1501.
Dumfries F.C. 18/272
A good win for Krause & Charteris he timed to be 1st Club, 1st West section on a velocity of 1412. Mr & Mrs K Gunther & Grandson take 2nd spot and 3rd West section doing 1385. R A Brown is 3rd Club, 4th section on 1384 and its D Owen 4th Club, 7th west section.
Nith Valley 13/189
Nice to see our own President take the red this week, he timed two to take 1st & 3rd Club, 2nd & 6th West Section doing velocities of 1385 & 1382. R Burgess 2nd Club and 5th West section on 1383 and A Hay 4th club 9th section on 1377. 10th West section went to the winner doing 1375.
