Hello folks,
North Liverpool Federation’s third young bird race of the 2013 took place from Monmouth on Saturday 3rd August. The convoy were liberated at 9.10am in a light south west wind and needed no second invitation as they made their push for home.
Paddy Fraser & Norman Skelton have been banging on the door for weeks and their persistence has paid off as they take 1st and 2nd positions at the Edgehill HS (5/91) The winner is a blue hen out of their Mr & Mrs Duggins’ Joop Groenen bloodlines, followed by a blue cock of similar breeding, velocities 1676 and 1636. The ever-present Brian & Terry Snagg take 3rd and 4th positions with 2 youngsters bred by former club-mate John Cain bred out of the L-Ring cock, when paired to a direct Walter Docx hen, velocities 1629 & 1615. Congratulations Paddy & Norman.
Terry Shawcross is top man once again at the Central with a youngster that was 4th club Ludlow, bred by club-mates Steve & Debbie Walsh through their Micky Lennon of Nuneaton stock. Terry would like to thank the Coo-Coo Sisters Chris & Debbie! Peter Kavanagh takes 2nd position with a homebred De Klak via stock obtained from Ricky Woods. Terry Hodson takes 3rd position with a Walter Docx youngster that was 6th club last week and it is through Teddy Davin’s Lewis. Roy Rothwell clocks a youngster bred by Danny Regan through his Myrtle Lofts bloodlines for 4th position. Thank Dan.
John Pugh remains in top spot at the Crosby. Colin Carrington takes 2nd position with a homebred Louis van Leemputten. John Jones clocks a brace for 3rd and 4th positions. The first timer bred by Jimmy Corbett, followed by a homebred Lambrecht. Thanks Joe.
Charlie McCardle & Terry Archbold once more shut out the first 4 positions at the Netherton (4/122) The winner is a blue Walter Docx hen and her sire is a 2 year old son of No 1 stock cock 62 who broke his wing as a young bird and was never raced. Dam is direct from Walter’s stock loft and is a daughter of the direct Janssen hen, responsible for many winners. Second timer is a mealy Walter Docx, same way bred as several winners for Charlie and Terry and others, a full brother was 2nd Sect MNFC Fougeres for Brian Leadbeater in 2012. Third timer is another Walter Docx blue hen off 93 a winner of 3x1st plus 2nd NL Fed, dam is a full sister to 95 a winner of 3 x 1st. Fourth in the clock is a blue Walter Docx hen sire is 95 a winner of 3x1st including 1st club 10th NL Fed Carentan and 1st club 1st NL Fed Fougeres. Dam is a daughter of No 1 stock cock 62 who has bred a host of pigeons to win at federation level from 75-400 miles. Congratulations men. Thanks Stan / Terry.
It’s another red as John Warren, Son and Marty Garrity take 1st and 3rd positions at the Bootle (5/84) with last week‘s winner claiming it‘s second red followed home by another homebred Willie Jacobs, velocities 1646, 1635. Eddie Bradley takes 2nd position including all pools and club nomination with a youngster bred by Liddle & Field of Banks on 1642. Lee & Kenny Byrne take 4th position on 1600, no details to hand on their timer.
The Bootle members would like to congratulate Charlie McCardle & Terry Archbold for topping the federation last week also taking the first four positions in their club, the latter feat they have repeated this week, great flying. Also congratulations to Josh & Noel Quarless for their great result in the Spellow. The Bootle, Spellow and Netherton lads would also like to send best wishes to Mart Garrity who is in hospital at the moment, get well soon Marty. Thanks Keith.
In a repeat of last week’s result, RSMF Lofts once again take 1st, 2nd and 4th positions at the Riverside (5/105). The winner carded at Ludlow and is a gift pigeon bred by Porter Brothers of the Tailors Arms. The second timer is a gift bird bred by Craig Wilkinson of Middlewich, followed by a youngster bred out of stock from Justin Deary, velocities 1660, 1659, 1657. Graham, Wendy & Connor Muirhead take 3rd position with a youngster bred by club president Paddy Cousins on 1658. Thanks Ian.
Stevie Williamson & John Murphy take 1st, 3rd and 4th positions at the Vauxhall (12/350). The winner is a Mandelaert x Bogaert bred out of John Gerrard stock, followed by it‘s full brother and a youngster bred out of stock obtained from Taylor Edwards via Foxwood Lofts Millennium Cock. Billy Early takes 2nd position with a Van Reet out of stock obtained from Miller & Sons, the sire has had 2x1st for Billy. Thanks Anthony.
Tommy Hibbs takes spot at the Pirrie (7/221) which also sees him take 1st North Liverpool Federation. The winner on 1682, is a blue cock bred out of Whitetail when paired to his own daughter, who is now a breeder of 8x1st club and 4x1st federation, worth her weight in gold. Billy Fulton & Eddie Meacock take 2nd, 3rd and 4th positions. First timer is a Leo van Rijn through Tim brown of Kent, followed by a homebred Soontjen and another out of their own family, velocities 1667, 1666 and 1665. Congratulations Tommy. Thanks Jimmy.
Stan & Dave Rothwell take the first 4 positions at the Lither land (11/265) The winner is a Van Reet x Wildie via Barry Grundy stock and the sire was 1st NL Fed earlier this season. Second and third timers are a nest pair of Van Reets, followed by a youngster which is same way bred as the fed topper, velocities 1680, 1671, 1670 & 1669. Croxton & White take 1st position at the Kirkdale (4/92) 1645. Duffy Brothers & Son take 2nd, 3rd and 4th positions on 1642, 1641 and 1639, no further details to hand. Thanks Mark.
