Congratulations to all of our prize winners this week, especially to our federation topper Jeff Bowman who follows up last week‘s commanding result with another dream performance, great flying Jeff.

For reasons you are no doubt all well aware of via your club secretaries/presidents, we did not have the opportunity to compete with the North West Combine this week. Hopefully this will not be the issue for the season finale and we will have some good news to finish the year. Will it be your turn? Let’s hope so.

This week’s picture shows Alan & Colin Baker with their star old bird performers of the 2013 season. Alan is holding a 2 year old blue Janssen cock bred by Paddy Fraser & Norman Skelton and he was a winner of 1st club, 3rd North Liverpool Federation Hereford 2,236 birds and 1st club, 2nd North Liverpool Federation Monmouth 2,247 birds.

Alan & Colin Baker

Colin is holding a 2 year old blue Vandenabeele cock bred by Jimmy Mannion and he is a winner of 1st club, 19th North Liverpool Federation Wincanton 2,210 birds and 1st club, 2nd North Liverpool Federation, 3rd North West Combine Bedhampton from over 8,000 old birds.

These results are brought even more into perspective when you consider how far into the east Alan & Colin fly. I think it is fair to say the federation has a predominantly western corridor and if you look at the overall federation results for these races and see where the bulk of the top 30 pigeons in each race were clocked, both pigeons clearly had to strike out on their own for each of these top performances. Well done Al & Colin.

Until next week everybody, take care.

Darren
