NORTH LIVERPOOL FED
NEWS FROM DARREN SMITH
Ludlow YBs - July 2013
Hello folks,
North Liverpool Federation’s first young bird race of the 2013 took place from Ludlow on Saturday 20th July. With the official announcement during the week that the country was in the grip of a heat wave, secretary Irene Hartless alerted all clubs that there may follow an early liberation to give the youngsters the best possible chance of making home.
As so often happens when contingency measures are put in place, events fail to materialise and the scorching sun that we have all enjoyed of late decided to take the morning off. And so it was at precisely 11am, the class of 2013 were released on their maiden foray home in an east north east wind.
Before we start the report round-up there has been some terrible news for one of our member partnerships this weekend and it needs highlighting in case any of you can help out in any way. Disaster struck Lol Rigby & Digger Clarke on Friday lunchtime as their lofts were burned to the ground. All of their pigeons bar a number of later bred youngsters that were out flying at the time perished.
The Princes Park members are devastated and are keen to support their club mates in any way they can to get them up and running in as quick as possible time. If anybody can help the lads out in any way, be it spare baskets, materials for a new loft, a good loft going cheap or perhaps you can help out with the rebuild, get in touch and I will pass your details on to Tommo. Best wishes Lol and Digger on behalf of all your fellow North Liverpool Federation members.

There were no other reports at the time of sending this through to the BHW / websites for release. Congratulations to all of our prize winners this week, especially to our federation toppers John Warren, Son & Marty Garrity for an outstanding club and federation result.
Judging from the feedback in the reports submitted there are quite a few empty perches being counted which is never good at any stage of the season, especially not after the first race. Hopefully many will make their way home over the coming week and things will begin to settle down as they get a bit of experience under their belts.
Scribes if you manage to get any pictures of your elusive club mates on marking night, at their lofts, or holding their cocks, or hens, get them over to me. Also for the scribes, it would be a great help if you could include the full names of all fanciers who make your club’s result that particular week.
Thanks for reading.
