Lanarkshire News - Alnwick 1- Joint 1st Open winners
This week we move to Alnwick on the Northumberland coast, around 95 miles back into lower Central Scotland.
The weather was full cloud cover with the chance of the odd light shower and a light south east wind.
A convoy of 3,003 Lanarkshire birds and 13 other crates were liberated at 10 30am.
This week’s winner took 1 hr 42 minutes for the 86 miles recording a winning velocity of 1476 for the very in form loft of Barclay McCrindle Son & Donnachie.
The partnership had a brilliant 1st,2nd,3rd ,4th,5th Centre section,1st,2nd,3rd Open federation.
They were 25 ypm ahead of the next competition.
This partnership has been at the top of their game for many a year and recording breath taking results in Lanarkshire federation.
I have had the pleasure of visiting their home on several occasions to report on their "Champion" performances.
Most in the sport will recognise the name, as the results are simple brilliant!
Themselves and Paul Macaloney have dominated the top of the Open results and the rest of us can only hold our breath awaiting the federation result to see who will be on top.
This is great testament to their pigeon husbandry and total dedication to be the best!
The details of this week’s winners were sent by Wullie Donnachie who is part of the McCrindle Partnership.
Wullie informed that the young birds performed exceptionally well again at the weekend in the Lanarkshire federation.
He advised, as always, upon his arrival at the loft, he was warmly greeted by their loft mascot wee "Poppy" who as always darted to his van for her doggy treats...
