Lanarkshire News - Presentation Night for season 2024
This year the committee decided to change the format of panel and buffet to return to the more traditional format of dinner dance.
The result was a success with over three times the attendance with over 120 in attendance.
The new venue was the includes the Cambusnethan/Morningside Social club which proved an excellent venue to accommodate such a large turnout.
The night got underway with a cracking two course meal with tea and coffee available after.
The President John Lawrie took the time to introduce our guests from Dundee Brian Chalmers and Gary Peggie , two outstanding fanciers ,both past winners of the Scottish National Flying Club , including other section winners.
John asked both to come forward and present this year’s Lanarkshire winners.
Thereafter we moved into the dance hall to enjoy the brilliant vocalist, Mark Findlay.
Mark is a pigeon fancier of note who understands the needs of the audience at hand.
The dance floor was full of couples dancing the night away.
It’s always a bonus that you don't have to dig deep to attend such an event with the ticket a mere £10 and excellent bar prices.
Congratulations to the committee for an outstanding evening and hopefully a blueprint for years to come.
Special mention to vice President Rab Cairns for his vision and insight to take this venture forward with more ideas to kick start the social aspects of our great sport.
Thanks to our guests who after the presentation networked well between the fanciers sharing their knowledge of the sport and appeared to enjoy their night.
