North Liverpool Federation

Hello folks, the North Liverpool Federation’s fifth old bird race of the season took place from Mangotsfield on Saturday 13th May. 88 members sent 2085 birds which were liberated at 1:30pm into a 10mph north wind with a clear line of flight ahead. This week’s federation winner was Terry Hodson with a yearling blue hen recording a velocity of 1496. This hen was sent as an extra with the Liverpool Central FC due to the club’s bird limit, therefore she was only racing for federation honours. Upon speaking with Terry, he tells me that the winner landed in his garden completely flown out during the young bird season last year and it belonged to Ste Maylett of Manchester and is a De Jan Hartog bred by Ray Lunt. Upon reporting the hen, it was agreed that he could keep her, as he took a shine to her, and she has repaid his faith this week. Congrats Terry.
