Hello folks,
North Liverpool Federation’s fifth young bird race of the 2013 season took place from Frome on Sunday 18th August. After a one day holdover, the convoy were liberated at 9.15am in a west south west wind and a fairly quick race ensued as the leading pigeons recorded velocities in the high 1400‘s.
Paddy Fraser & Norman Skelton spend their third week at the summit as they take 1st and 2nd positions at the Edgehill HS (7/114) on 1449 and 1414.674. Both timers are out of their Mr & Mrs Duggins’ Joop Groenen bloodlines which have been coming really well of late. Brian & Terry Snagg take 3rd position with a homebred youngster out of their own family on 1414.015. Mick Fox gets amongst the prizes to takes 4th position on 1412, no further details to hand. Congratulations Paddy & Norman.
Charlie McCardle & Terry Archbold take the first 4 positions at the Netherton (4/71) on 1459, 1420, 1416 and 1415. The winner is a blue Walter Docx hen which also won 1st club, 5th NL Fed Monmouth 1. Her sire is a yearling mealy cock who was 2nd club, 19th NL Fed Carentan and 2nd club, 2nd NL Fed Fougeres, both times beaten by a loft-mate. The dam is a daughter of No1 stock cock 62, who is responsible for a host of winners. Second timer is a blue Frans Zwols hen winning her first prize card bred from direct stock birds. Third timer is a light cheq Walter Docx hen taking her first prize card. Sire is the Dominator a direct cock who won amongst other prizes 3x1st Federation and 1x2nd Federation and was also runner-up to the Western Region Sprint Bird of the year. Her dam is from direct stock and bred a nest pair of winners in 2012 with a different cock. Fourth timer is a blue Frans Zwols hen winning her first prize card and she is also bred from stock birds purchased directly from Dr Zwols. Congratulations gents, great flying. Thanks Stan / Terry.
For the second time this young bird campaign, Joe Perry & Son take the first 4 positions at the Litherland with all of their timers coming via Stevie Goulding stock. The winner is a De Zot x Houben, followed by a Stickers Donkers youngster, a youngster bred out of the Special One and Roly‘s Rocket and another Stickers Donkers youngster. Mr Consistent Jeff Bowman takes the first three at the Pirrie a result which also sees him take 1st North Liverpool Federation. The winner is a hen bred out of Merlin and Blue Velvet, followed by a De Meyer x Lindelauf / Jacobs cock and a youngster bred out of a Teddy Davin cock when paired to Blue Velvet. John & Gary Hartless and Paul Howard take 4th position with a blue cock. Congratulations on a brilliant result Jeff. Thanks Jimmy.
John Warren, Son and Marty Garrity take 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions at the Bootle (6/88) with three of their prolific Willie Jacobs youngsters on 1448, 1425 and 1417. The winner was 2nd club, 7th NL Fed Ludlow, followed by a son of the Midlands National winner and last week’s winner which also finished 11th in the Liverpool Classic race from Bedhampton last week. Eddie Bradley takes 4th position by with a Jos Thone x Huijbrecht youngster on 1401. The dam was bred by Liddle & Field of Banks. Thanks Keith.
Brown Brothers claim victory at the Riverside (5/50) also taking 4th position on 1408 and 1384.103. The winner is a Willy Jacobs bred by John Warren, Son & Marty Garrity (thanks lads! - Stan). The second timer is a homebred Walter Docx. RSMF Lofts take 2nd position with a gift pigeon bred by WJ Bresnahan of Maghull on 1401. Graham, Wendy & Connor Muirhead take 3rd position with a youngster bred in their stock loft at Paddy Cousins on 1384.317. Thanks Ian.
Peter Kavanagh takes 1st and 4th positions at the Central (12/145) on 1414 and 1387. The winner was 2nd club Monmouth 1 and is a De Klak via Ricky Woods (Thanks Ricky! - Kav). The second timer is a Strawberry cock that was also 4th last week and is bred by Danny Regan through the best of Danny and Lee Davison’s blood. Steve & Debbie Walsh take 2nd position on 1407 with a blue hen of Micky Lennon of Nuneaton bloodlines. Sire is Big Ceres, a winner at Ludlow and Hereford in 2013 as well as other prizes as a yearling. Terry Hodson takes 3rd position with a young hen of Teddy Davin’s Lewis bloodlines taking her third card in 5 races on 1398. Les Miller & Sons take 1st and 3rd positions at the Princes Park (9/229) on 1432 and 1422.958. The winner is a blue cock that has now taken 1x1st, 1x2nd and 1x4th as well as all pools this week and he was bred by Danny & Danny Kelly and Thomas Devine out of a direct Corneel Bertles cock when paired to a niece of one of their North West Combine winners. The second timer is a homebred cheq cock out of a pair of pigeons Tommo purchased in Belgium in 2012 from Hugo Moons. Team Heague take 2nd and 4th positions on 1423 and 1422.501. First timer is a blue pied hen bred out of the lads’ RPRA award winner when paired to a full sister of 1st North West Combine. Second timer is a blue hen bred out of one of Team Heague’s fed topping widowers who is a brother to the RPRA award winner and North West Combine winner, when paired to his own daughter. Noel & Josh Quarless' hard work continues to pay off as they claim 1st and 3rd positions at the Spellow. The winner is the same Davie Burns bred youngster that has been coming the last three weeks. He is of Syndicate Lofts bloodlines, his sire is bred down from Home Alone while the dam is through Champion Zidane (Thanks Davie - Noel & Josh). There are no details on the second timer. John & Alan Johnson and Darren Pattison take 2nd position, no further details to hand. Roy Reid takes 4th position with a young hen bred out of his 2nd North West Combine cock who is bred out of a son of Rice & Gardner’s Turbo, winner of 26x1st when paired to a sister of his 2012 fed topper which is bred out of a son of the 18x1st cock of Norman Bridgewater and All the 9’s bred by Robbie Thomas. Stevie Williamson & John Murphy's youngsters were in a bullish mood as they took 1st 2nd and 4th positions at the Vauxhall (12/342). The winner is a Manderlart x Bogaert youngster via John Gerard and Taylor & Edwards stock that was 3rd at Monmouth followed by a Manderlart whose parents are direct and known as the box 9 pair. The third timer is also a Manderlart out of direct parents known as the box 4 pair.(well done Ste / John).
