Hello folks,
North Liverpool Federation’s ninth race of 2014 took place from Falaise in conjunction with the first race of the North West Combine channel programme. The convoy were liberated after a one day holdover in a light north east wind at 8am on Sunday 8th June.

Terry Snagg takes the top two positions at the Edge Hill (10/62) on 1659 and 1656. The winner is a yearling cheq widower taking his first card and he is bred out of a Koopman cock gifted by good friends Southern & McCrudden who fly in Skelmersdale when paired to a hen of his own bloodlines. Second timer is another yearling widower taking his first card and he is bred out of Terry’s own bloodlines. Recent Liverpool Classic Club victor Billy Chapman & Sons take 3rd position on 1628 with a 2 year old cheq hen taking her first card and she is bred out of the lads‘ own bloodlines. Colin & Alan Baker take 4th position on 1608 with a 3 year old cheq Pouw Brothers widower that has carded before including 2nd club a few races back. Congratulations Terry.

John Pugh wins at the Crosby with a 2 year old widower of Campbell Brothers bloodlines. Joe Pearman & Joe Rooney take 2nd, 3rd and 4th positions with their widowhood hen team. First timer is a yearling of Soontjen x Vandenabeele bloodlines. Sire is a winner of 3rd, 6th, 2 x 10th, 20th and 30th NL Fed while the dam was gifted by the late Joe Lysaght. Second and third timers are both of Heremans Ceusters bloodlines originating from Premier Stud. The former was 2nd Portland the week previous, while the latter won the last young bird race in 2013. Tony Owens’ door banging of the last few weeks sees the door finally swing open as he takes 1st position at the Kirkdale (5/34) on 1693. The winner is a Lou Wouters that has scored before and Tony would like to thank John & Alan Johnson and Darren Pattison for the young birds. Vin Maguire takes 2nd, 3rd and 4th positions with two widowhood hens, both daughters of his goldmine producer ’71, sandwiching a 3 year old widowhood cock that has scored before (Thanks Ted - Vin). Joe Perry & Son take 1st and 4th positions at the Litherland. The winner is a yearling Van Loon hen through Steven Goulding’s Jackpot hen. The second timer is also a yearling via Steven Goulding stock. Ted Davin & Son take 2nd position with a 2 year old widowhood hen which has previously won 2x1st and 2x2nd and she is a daughter of Lewis. Freddie Lloyd, Kev Moran & Ashley Healey take 3rd position with a yearling widowhood hen bred by Micky Collins. Thanks Ted.

Rimmer & Cleminson go one better than last week’s bridesmaid’s finish by taking 1st position at the Riverside (8/36). The winner on 1630 is a 2 year old Walter Docx widowhood hen bred by good friends Charlie McArdle & Terry Archbold (Thanks lads) that adds to her 2x2nd place finishes in 2014. Peter Clem would also like to thank his wife for all her help with the birds. RSMF Lofts take 2nd position on 1620 with a homebred widower of De Rauw Sablon bloodlines. AJJ Medway take 3rd position with a homebred Koopman on 1585. Mr & Mrs J O’Brien and Son take 4th position on 1579 with a Gerald Delaney bred van Lint x Willy Jacobs widower. Thanks Ian.

John Warren, Son & Marty Garrity take 1st positions at the Bootle (6/38) on 1656. Porter Brothers take 2nd and 3rd positions on 1635 and 1632. Eddy Bradley takes 4th position on 1625. Thanks Keith.

Robbie Kershaw takes 1st and 3rd positions at the Netherton on 1636 and 1600. The winner is a 2 year old Vandenabeele bred by good friend Paul Hourihan and he is a previous winner of 1st club 7th NL Fed Bedhampton in 2013. Second timer is a 2 year old late bred Walter Docx red cock that was a gift bird from club mates Charlie McArdle and Terry Archbold. Stan Stevens takes 2nd position on 1610 with a 5 year old Vandenabeele via Myrtle Lofts that is a previous winner of many prizes. Thanks Terry.

John & Alan Johnson and Darren Pattison continue their winning ways taking 1st position at the Spellow on 1701. The winner is a yearling Walter Docx widower bred out of a pair of stock birds gifted to the lads by Charlie McArdle and Terry Archbold and every bred from this pair has either won or taken prizes. Roy Reid continues racking up the points as he once more takes 2nd, 3rd and 4th positions on 1667, 1658 and 1625. Roy’s first timer is his good De Meester hen that won 1st NL Fed, 3rd NW Combine Fougeres in 2013. Second timer was bred by Birmingham ace Wally Mellor out of his 21x1st cock. Third timer is bred out of a son of Reg Hinks‘ ‘Wedgie-Wedgie‘ a winner of 27x1st, when paired to a daughter of Bobbins, a winner of 19x1st club, 5x1st fed for Mike Hall of Stockport. John Devine & Son takes 1st, 2nd and 4th positions at the Princes Park. The winner stems from JD’s own bloodlines, being a son of their 2nd NL Fed, 2nd NW Combine Poole in 2012 and he has scored from France last season. Second timer is a yearling cheq white flight hen bred by John & Franny McDowell through their Myrtle Lofts bloodlines. Third timer is another of JD’s own bloodlines and it is a 2 year old mealy cock that has also carded before from France. Billy Dooley, Paddy Rowan and Sid Chapman take 3rd position with a grizzle Camiel Cardon widowhood hen bred out of a sister to White Wonder, both pigeons originating from the loft of Mick and Adam O’Hara. Tommy Hibbs returns to top spot at the Pirrie (8/81). The winner is a yearling hen and she is a granddaughter of Tommy’s prolific racer/breeder Whitetail. Tommy Woods stays in the result and takes 2nd position with a yearling widower. Jimmy Mannion takes 3rd and 4th positions with a couple of 3 year olds. Thanks Jimmy.

John Nixon remains top man at the Taylors Arms (12/159) on 1746 with a Roger Maris bred by club-mate Ste Smith and this result also sees John take 1st North Liverpool Federation. Previous turns for the winner include 5th club as a young bird and 32nd NL Fed Bath 43rd NL Fed, 92nd NW Combine in 2014. Mick Nixon junior takes 2nd position on 1726 with one of his very consistent imports from the Natural Breeding Station. George Pendleton senior takes 3rd position on 1696 with a Busschaert hen that finished 4th Liverpool Classic Club a few weeks back. Sire is a winner of 2x1st Liverpool Amal and plenty of other prizes. O’Leary & Smith take 4th position on 1695 with a pigeon that was broken out from the lofts of Teddy Morris. Thanks Jim.

Ste Williamson and John Murphy win again at the Vauxhall, also taking 4th position. The winner is a Timmermans Janssen bred out of stock obtained from Taylor and Edwards and this cock was 2nd club a few weeks back. Second timer is a Roger Maris bred by Petron Stud and broke out from the lofts of former club-mates Kelly, Powell & Whelan. John & Fran McDowell take 2nd position with a yearling hen bred by Bob Short out of a grandson of Jester, Carrie and Shadow when paired to a granddaughter of Eisenhower and Super Girl, all Myrtle Lofts bloodlines. Kelly Brothers, Sons and Devine take 4th position with a yearling Heremans Ceusters widower. Thanks Tom.

Central scribe Danny Pearson is away on his jollies at the moment but a look at the federation sheet sees AJ Hawkins & Son took 1st, 2nd and 4th positions on 1725, 1713 and 1662. Billy Early took 3rd club on 1697.
