Hello folks,
North Liverpool Federation’s thirteenth race of 2014 took place from Messac in conjunction with the North West Combine channel programme. The convoy were liberated after a two day holdover in a light west wind at 7.15am on Monday 7th July.
Alan & Colin Baker take 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions at the Edge Hill. The winner is a 4y Vandenabeele cock bred by Jimmy Mannion from his Myrtle Lofts stock and his previous victories include 1st Carentan and 1st Fougeres. Second timer is a 4y blue Hofkens x Pouw Brothers widower via Syndicate Lofts and Page Brothers stock and his previous victories include 1st Fougeres and a raft of other prizes. Third timer is a 3y Pouw Bros widower via Page Brothers stock and he has many prizes to his credit. Jimmy Melia takes 4th position, no further details to hand. Congratulations Al & Colin.
Joe Pearman & Joe Rooney clock two of their widowhood hen team to take 1st and 2nd positions at the Crosby. The winner is a yearling Heremans Ceusters which scored in the fed recently at Portland and Falaise, followed by a yearling Van Reet x Vandenabeele through Joe Lysaght stock and she also has a number of prizes to her credit. Thanks Joe and congratulations mate.
John Jones takes 1st position at the Kirkdale (4/15) on 1224. The winner takes his second red of the season having recently won at Fougeres 1 and he is bred by John’s best friends in the game, Kenny & Robbie Murtagh. Tony Owens takes 2nd and 3rd positions this week on 1201 and 1110. First timer is a Lou Wouters cock that won recently at Falaise followed by a yearling cheq cock which scored 2nd club at Portland and it is a gift pigeon from A. Mace of Stoke. Vin Maguire takes 4th position on 1110, no further details to hand. Thanks Mark.
Terry Hodson takes 1st and 3rd positions at the Central. The winner is a yearling hen bred out of Danny Regan’s Myrtle Lofts Vandenabeele x Wattles bloodlines. Second timer is a 2y cock that was 3rd club Fougeres recently and he is a son of the Combine hen. Billy Early takes 2nd position with a Van Reet out of Miller Brothers stock. Mark Pearson & Sons take 4th position with a Danny Regan bred 3y cock that won from Messac in 2013 and was the only bird on the day in the club. Thanks Terry and congratulations mate.
Roy Reid takes 1st and 4th positions at the Spellow on 1294 and 1194. The winner is the De Meester hen whose career so far reads 3x1st, 1x2nd, 2x3rd and 1st NL Fed, 3rd NW Combine. Sire is a son of Mike Beck of Flint’s number 1 pair when paired to a daughter of Darren Norris’ True Grit, a winner of 13x1st & 6x2nd. Second timer is a multi-prize winning Gevaert van Schoorisse. Sire is a son of John Millward‘s 6x1st fed hen, dam is a daughter of Roy‘s no1 Soontjen cock, a breeder of over 50x1st prizes at all levels. John & Alan Johnson and Darren Pattison take 2nd and 3rd positions on 1263 and 1202. First timer is a Vandenabeele from Charlie McCardle and Terry Archbold and he is a previous winner of 1st Hereford and 1st Carentan. Second timer is via stock obtained from the late Mick McHugh, a former club-mate and its nest-mate won 1st club, 10th NL Fed Portland this year. Thanks Darren.
John & Gary Hartless and Paul Howard remain in top spot at the Pirrie, a result which also sees the lads take 1st North Liverpool Federation. The winner is a yearling blue hen bred by good friend Jimmy Hampson of Banks; her previous turns include 2x2nd and fed positions. Tommy & Karen Hibbs take 2nd and 3rd positions with a couple of yearling hens. First timer was bred by John Gerrard, followed by a grand-daughter of the famous Whitetail and this hen is in a good moment as she was 3rd NW Combine from Fougeres recently. Tommy Woods takes 4th position with a yearling blue cock via Stephen Goulding stock. Thanks Jimmy.
Mr & Mrs Ted Davin and Jock McCafferty take 1st position at the Litherland with a 3y widower which has previously won 2x1st. Sire is 03, a breeder of several first prize winners whose bloodlines are Charles Le Clerq via Kenny Simpson x Jimmy & Paul Weeder. The dam is a Gordon Sinclair Busschaert. Joe Perry & Son take 2nd, 3rd and 4th positions with three of their hen team and all originate from Steven Goulding’s Van Loon stock. John & Fran McDowell take the first three positions again at the Vauxhall with three of their Vandenabeele hens. The winner is bred from a son of Myrtle Lofts’ First Class and a John Blundell hen via his directs. Second and third timers are daughters of 2 of John & Fran’s fed toppers and both have scored at fed and combine level. Kelly Brothers, Sons and Devine take 4th position, no further details to hand. Mick Nixon’s great season continues as he takes 1st position at the Taylors Arms with a yearling Vandenabeele hen bred by the Natural Breeding Station. George Pendleton senior takes 2nd position with a 4 year old hen that has won over £1,000 racing with the MNFC. Sire is a Janssen cock while the dam is a Cattrysse via Colin Lloyd. Jimmy Redfern & Son take 3rd position with a Vandenabeele cock bred by club-mates John & Lee Maguire. P O’Leary and Ste Smith take 4th position with a yearling widower bred by club-mates John, Tony & Amy Porter. The Taylors Arms lads would like to congratulate Mick on his run of results and for also winning the Liverpool 2 Bird race when only 3 game pigeons made it home on the day. Sid Powell takes 1st position at the Princes Park with a mealy Van Reet hen. This has proven to be a successful line for Sid in 2014 as the nest-mate was 2nd Fougeres 2 and another sister won at Portland. Billy Dooley, Paddy Rowan and Sid Chapman take 2nd and 3rd positions with a yearling Lambrecht taking its first card and Lesley, a gift pigeon from Crowe and Worrall. No Riverside result this week but a look at the fed sheet confirms RSMF Lofts take 1st position on 1308, followed by Rimmer & Cleminson in 2nd position on 1222.
No result this week from the Bootle either, but looking at the fed sheet we see Eddie Bradley takes 1st and 2nd positions on 1188 and 1177, with Mr & Mrs Lee in 3rd position on 1173.
