NORTH LIVERPOOL FED

NEWS FROM DARREN SMITH

Messac - June 30th 2013

Hello folks,
North Liverpool Federation’s twelfth race of the 2013 season took place from Messac as part of the North West Combine liberation. Once again, poor weather conditions saw the convoy held over on the Saturday and so it was on Sunday 30th June that the strings were finally cut and the convoy were liberated at 10 am into a light north west wind.

ETAs ranging between 8 and a half - nine hours proved unduly optimistic and as has happened more often than not over the last 5 weeks, those sat waiting at home could only imagine the difficulties their charges were facing on their fight for home.

Returns on the night were few and far between across the North West Combine radius and come close of play on day 1, only 6 gallant federation pigeons had made their home loft. Messac had become the toughest challenge of 2013 so far.
