NORTH LIVERPOOL FED
NEWS FROM DARREN SMITH
Fougeres 1 - June 2013
Hello folks,
North Liverpool Federation’s tenth race of the 2013 season took place from Fougeres on Saturday 15th June as part of the North West Combine liberation. Word came through that the convoy strings were cut at 8am and the birds were liberated into a west south west wind.
The warm spell we have been enjoying of late continued and the forces of nature combined favourably for what turned out to be a fairly quick race with velocities in the top 30 of the result ranging from 1550-1464 yards per minute.
Birdage on recent weeks took a bit of a battering, but with races taking place for the specialist clubs on the same day and only 3 days having elapsed between the Carentan holdover and Thursday marking for Fougeres, it was perhaps to be expected.
Alan & Colin Baker’s great old bird campaign continues as they take 1st position at the Edgehill HS (6/23). The winner is a 3 year old blue widower and he adds to a number of prizes he has taken already with this victory.
