Derby Notes

Saturday September 23rd saw the final race of the season for the Burton & South Derbyshire Federation from Kingsdown which was a federation special race.


The pigeons were liberated at 12-15 in a south south east wind.


Getting the first pigeon into Derby and taking the first two positions in Osmaston Park Homing Society was S & H W Hall.Taking the red card was a blue hen doing 1772.8 followed by a grizzle hen doing 1772.2 to take second. In third position was Mick Stone with a dk/ch hen doing 1734 followed by John & Steve Hicks in fourth with a blue cock doing 1732.

In the Brackens South Road Flying Club new member Johnathan Woodward gets the winner with a blue hen doing 1744 followed by a ch/pied cock doing 1737 to take third.In second & fourth positions with a red cock doing 1741 and a blue cock doing 1735 was Brailsford & Doyle.

In Ilkeston Bulls Head Flying Club making a clean sweep was John & Pamela Dowd with their winner doing 1824 and the next three pigeons all doing 1823.

In Etwall & District Flying Club A.Peach & Son took the first three positions with a white cock getting the red card doing 1735 followed by two cheq hens doing 1689 & 1635.In fourth position was Dave Williams & Son doing 1634 with a blue cock.

All shows through the wires.
Penning 11-00am -12-00 noon.
Entry fee 50p per bird,Matched pairs £1 per pair.

There will be six show races three old birds and three young bird races. Races to be decided at a later date.

Show races will be for club members only.
