Saturday May 27th and the Burton & South Derbyshire Federation were at Coutances for the first of their Federation Special races.

The pigeons were liberated at 11-15 in a south south west wind.
Getting the first pigeon into Derby and having another excellent season was Mick Stone of Osmaston Park Homing Society. His winner was a two year old blue cock doing 1784.In second position was Derek Ford with a four year old blue hen doing 1700 followed by S & H W Hall with a yearling blue cock doing 1689 with Dave Glew in fourth doing 1686 with a yearling blue cock.

In Etwall & District Flying Club Tony & June Whitehurst get the red card with a four year old dark cock doing 1722 with Sam Phillips in second & fourth positions with a yearling mealy cock doing 1652 and a three year old mealy cock doing 1530.In third position was Dave Williams & Son with a four year old mealy pied cock doing 1634.

In Ilkeston Bulls Head Flying Club R & M Duffield take the top two positions with Dave Smith in third & fourth.

In the Brackens South Road Flying Club Reuben Hough takes three of the first four positions. His winner was a two year old cheq hen doing 1618 followed by a two year old cheq cock doing 1252 then a yearling cheq cock doing 1144 to take fourth. In second position was Fred Stevenson doing 1347.

The Burton & South Derbyshire Federation also held a inland race from Frome with the pigeons being liberated at 13-45 in a south west wind.
Getting the first pigeon into Derby and taking the first two positions in Osmaston Park Homing Society was the Little Eaton loft of S & H W Hall with a yearling cheq hen doing 2090 (71.25 mph) and a yearling grizzle hen doing 2065.Third position went to Mick Stone with a dk/ch yearling cock doing 2049 with Dave glew in fourth doing 2022 with a two year old cheq cock.


In Ilkeston Bulls Head Flying Club John & Pamela Dowd take the first two positions with two yearling hens doing 2076 & 2073.In third position was R & M Duffield doing 2065 with fourth position going to Mr & Mrs K Haslam & Son doing 2024.
In Etwall & District Flying Club Paul Williams gets the winner with a two year old blue cock doing 2069 followed by a four year old b/w/f/cock doing 2010 to take fourth. In second position was club secretary A. Peach & Son with a yearling blue cock doing 2067 with Sam Phillips in third with a yearling mealy cock doing 2013.


Derby Burton & District South Road Federation were at Windrush with the pigeons being liberated at 15.00 hrs in a south west wind. Getting the red card in Derby Premier was L.D.S. Johnson with a yearling blue hen doing 2052.Taking the next three positions was Paul & Lynda Todd with a three year old hen doing 2020,then a yearling cheq hen doing 1995 followed by a two year old mealy cock doing 1992.
