Etwall & District Flying Club Presentation Evening 2021.
Etwall & District Flying Club held their annual prize presentation evening on November 27th at the Royal British Legion Club at Repton. Presenting the prizes and guest of honour for the evening was Gerald Hough whose father Reuben was a member of the club before sadly passing away.

Top prize winners for the 2021 season were A.Peach & Son who had an incredible season winning 8x1sts,9x2nds,9x3rds & 8x4ths plus 1 first fed winning Old Bird Inland average cup, Inland average cup, Old Bird average cup, Combine average cup, Mr & Mrs Houldsworth cup & the Golden horseshoe shield with prize money of £217.76,£75.84 specials,£146.85 pools,£13.00 loft pool & £14.00 nominations making a total of £465,45.

Next were Mr & Mrs Houldsworth ( Alan & Liz ) winning 2x1sts,2x2nds,1x3rd & 3x4ths plus 1st fed winning P. Bevan shield, G. Child's nomination shield prize money of £51.84,specials £51.14, pool money £39.86,£4.50 loft pool, & £4.00 nominations making a total of £151.34 and runners up in the ladies race.

Kevin Southall came next winning 3x1sts,3x2nds,2x3rds & 3x4ths plus 1st fed winning prize money of £62.70,Specials £49.06 and winning the ladies race.

Mr & Mrs A J Whitehurst ( Tony & June ) came next winning £12.48 prize money, specials £2.58 making a total of £15.06.

Up next was Mick Leszczyszak winning £11.52 prize money & specials of 0.83 making a total of £12.35.

Next was Shaw Brothers winning £2.88 prize money,£0.83 specials making a total of £3.71.

Finally it was the turn of Sam Phillips winning £1.92 prize money.
Club person of the year was Steve Redfern which was very well deserved. Steve came down the club every week to help with the marking of the pigeons and loading of the transporter although not sending himself ( Top man ).

Runner up for the 2021 season was Steve Billings who along with other members were unable to attend due the covid situation. Steve won 3x1sts,2x2nds,4x3rds & 2x4ths winnings Reuben Hough cup, G. Williams cup, Mr & Mrs Houldsworth cup, J. Childs nominated shield, A & C Perry cup and the silver horse shoe shiels with winnings of £72 prize money,£74.49 specials & £20.88 pool money making a total of £167.37.
After the presentation was over there was an excellent buffet which was prepared once again by Ann Faulkener who always does a first class job.

A big thank you to Alan Peach club secretary for all the hard work he has put in over the season especially with the covid situation making sure there was plenty of sanitizer available on basketing nights and clock opening nights. Also to the rest of the club members for all their hard work all helping out with the loading of the birds cleaning of the crates and tidying up of the headquarters when the transporter left.
A Thank You to Gerald Hough who donated £250 to the club from Reubens legacy (Thank You).
