DERBY NOTES

Derby Premier & Derby South Road Presentation 2014
Saturday November 1st and it was the presentation evening for both the Derby South Road Club & Derby Premier Flying Club which was held at their headquarters at the family club, London Road, Derby.
First up was Derby South Road Club and presenting the prizes was the secretary's wife Lynda. First up to the table after having a excellent season winning 11x1sts, 12x2nds, 6x3rds, 5x4ths & 8x5ths was Roy Gregory & Son winning the old bird inland average & young bird average and a total of £374.
Runners up were John & Steve Hicks winning 6x1sts, 3x2nds, 6x3rds, 11x4ths & 8x5ths winning a total of £244. Both the above lofts topping the Burton & South Derbyshire Federation.
Next up was Dave Waddington who after a short break returned to the sport only flying young birds winning 3x1sts, 3x2nds, 3x3rds, 1x4th & 2x5ths longest young bird race trophy and prize money of £108.
Farrar & Peters were next winning 1x1st, 2x2nds, 2x3rds, 1x4th & 1x5th and prize money of £58 followed by Mick Leszczysak with 1x1st & 2x3rds and prize money of £31.
Brailsford & Doyle were next winning 1x3rd, 3x4ths & 3x5ths and prize money of £29.
Next up was Jake Harcup winning 1x2st & 1x3rd with prize money of £23.
The hard working secretary Paul Todd and wife Lynda came next winning 1x2nd, 1x3rd & 1x4th and prize money of £23 followed by Dave Glew winning 2x2nds and prize money of £20 with Mathew Yule & Trevor Overman winning smaller amounts.The club paid out a total of £920 equating to £40 per race.
Next it was the turn of the five bird section with the Mackworth loft of Roy Gregory & Son being premier prize winners winning 11x1sts, 11x2nds, 9x3rds, 6x4ths & 5x5ths and prize money of £143.
John & Steve Hicks were next winning 4x1sts, 5x2nds, 8x3rds, 7x4ths & 9x5ths and prize money of £87.
Brailsford & Doyle were next winning 2x1sts, 1x2nd, 3x4ths & 2x5ths and prize money of £22 followed by Mathew Yule winning 1x1st & 1x3rd and prize money of £8 then Farrar & Peters winning 1x2nd and prize money of £4 then Paul & Lynda Todd winning 1x4th and prize money of £2 and finally John Coote with 1x5th and prize money of £1 a total paid out of £267.
Derby Premier were next and presenting the prizes was club president Jack Whitehouse. First up was the man & wife partnership of Paul & Lynda Todd, Paul also being the secretary winning 10x1sts, 12x2nds, 15x3rds & 11x4ths, Old bird average, Channel average, Saintes cup, Messac cup, Falaise cup & longest two races cup with prize money of £1,170.
Runners up were Roy Gregory & Son winning 7x1sts, 4x2nds, 5x3rds & 5x4ths young bird average & longest young bird race cup and prize money of £550.
Next was L D S Johnson winning 2x1sts, 2x2nds & 2x4ths and prize money of £160.
Derek Ford came next winning 1x1st, 1x2nd & 1x4th and prize money of £80.
Next came Neil Croft winning 1x1st & 1x2nd and prize money of £70. This was Neil's first win breaking his novice also topping the Derby Burton & District South Road Federation on the same day well done Neil.
Davids Coote came next winning 1x2nd and prize money of £30 followed by John Coote with 1x3rd and prize money of £20 then came Pat Tillson winning 1x4th and prize money of £10 and finally Paul Adams with 1x4th and prize money of £10.
All the members of both Derby Premier & Derby South Road club would like to thank Jack Whitehouse for his efforts in raising the funds to make sure both clubs have a excellent pay out, also to Paul Todd (secretary) & wife Lynda whose hard work and dedication through out the year make both clubs the success they are today.
