BURTON & SOUTH DERBYSHIRE FEDERATION.
Peter Schofield of Holbrook well clear from Hullavington (2).
Saturday August 9th saw 46 members from 6 clubs enter 858 birds for the second successive race from Hullavington in Wiltshire. we had to wait, but Alys got the birds away at 12-20 in a fresh West wind. Returns in the end were very decent, but it was like many young bird races, some lofts had em all in no time and others had em coming all afternoon and into the evening. One must consider there were birds in for their first race, and birds back in after recovering from Young Bird Sickness, some lofts didn’t send because of the sickness, it seems to worse than ever this year across the UK?
Congratulations to Peter Schofield of Duffield, flying out of the Holbrook club, Peter was well clear to take 1st fed on 1687 with a home bred cheq cock out of his Tim Atkin stock. Peter has flown the North road in the past, and is now having a go on the south road.

Saturday August 9th marked 12 months since my late father sadly passed away. Pete was a founder member of Stretton FC in the 1960’s; to mark this occasion we ran the “Pete Wightman 2 Bird Average Memorial”; with prize money of £50 to the top 3 lofts.
