The fifth young bird race saw 89 members send 1928 birds. The birds were libbed at 8.00 am in a South West wind.
Llay HS had a great race as a club again. 1st, 2nd & 3rd F Tilston & Sons with a young Gaby cock bred by Ken Richardson of Leeswood from his M & D Evans Stock, lines of EDU, Jester and Carrie in this one. Ken was at the loft to see this race so it was nice that his came first! Second bird a young hen from a son of the Motivator who is a direct son of Flor Engles De 231 and their No 1 Meyvaert stock hen when paired back to a grandaughter of De 231. 3rd bird is a young cock whose sire is young Prins, n.o 1 direct Willy Thas cock who is responsible for loads of winners when paired to the n.o 1 Meyvaert Hen who has bred five fed winners to date and many National Performances. 4th GE Jones (Popsie) with a young homebred Willy Thas from stock he obtained from F Tilston & Sons a few years ago.
Smithfield HS. 1st club Mr & Mrs R Groom & Son with a gift bird off brother & daughter Andrew and Natalie Groom. 2nd club Steve Burgess with a Janssen x Van Reet cross, sire 1st prizewinner racing and bred 4 x 1sts, dam is Dickens Hen, 1st preizewinner and bred 2 x 1st winners. 3rd and 4th M&J Thomas - NO DETAILS.
Wrexham. 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Gareth Jones with a cheq white flight Soontjen x Gaby darkness hen. Fred Sheader x M&D Evans lines, sire 5 x 1st, dam a daughter of Ronan, takes first share of pools. Second bird a blue M&D Evans Vandenabeele darkness hen, 3rd bird a blue M&D Evans Vandenabeele darkness cock to complete a clean sweep.
Shotton. 1st V Jacobs & Son with a blue pied hen, a John Millward & Son Demeester, sire won 1st Deeside amal Frome race for Vic & Paul, dam bred 6 x 1st prizewinners out of Klacker x Millwards Hen, 2nd and 3rd CLM Lofts with a blue cheq, 2nd bird a dark cheq both Pete & Terri Rodgers Demeester stock. 4th Zak Williams & Grandad - no details.
Mold. 1st H&P Cumberland with a blue pied Soontjen hen. 2nd and 4th GM Connah&Maidment with a blue wf Heremans Ceuster Laffy Daffy cock. 2nd bird a blue Jan Aarden x Smits van Winkel cock. 3rd club Parry&Quayle with a blue Busschaert hen.
Horse&Jockey. 1st, 2nd and 3rd Mr&Mrs BW Jones & Son with a blue pied Cooreman x Gevaert cock. 2nd a blue pied cock bred by David Geary and bought at the breeder-buyer sale. 3rd a Gevaert x lefebre dhaenen, sire Gevaert sire of 1st club Niort, dam is Lefebre Dhaenen bred by J Millward & son, 4th club J Millward & Son with a cheq Gevaert x Lefebre Dheanen hen.
Ellesmere. 1st 3rd and 4th A Lawley with a Derick Jones Gebre Hester, 2nd the same as the winner, 3rd a M&D Evans Vandenabeele. 2nd club Roy and Derick Dovaston with a blue cheq cock, sire Mike Hale x Andrew Lawley, dam G Marley x P Howell Van Reet.
