Lanarkshire News-Appleby Race 29/4/17

This weeks race point was Appleby-in-Westmorland, its a town and civil parish in Cumbria, in North West England. It is situated within a loop of the River Eden The annual Appleby Horse Fair, held regularly in early June,record of the fair is in the 12th century, with a charter from Henry II, but it is believed to have a longer tradition
The convoy of 5,850 birds were liberated at 10 45 am in a south east wind and  the winning velocity was up in the high 1800s, back into Central Scotland.. Reports say the winning birds were dots in the Sky on their return with many over shooting their loft location ,the racing again was erratic but most returning later but again most reported  pigeons missing.
This weeks winner of the Open federation is Jim McGuire of Burnbank club in Hamilton Jim's winner is a yearling blue cock that records his third win already in his short career..Its breeding is Sire is out of Louella Busshaert lines and the dam was a gift from Dave Frame of Lesmahagow. He was racing natural system with his hen recently laid. Jim is over the moon with his win and thanks everyone for the kind remarks.Jim is only recently joined the sport and thanks good friend Walter Boswell for all his advise and support.Well done Jim

Ian Lindsay of Lindsay & Henderson wins Newmains   -   GWP Macaloney win Airdirie Dist and 2nd Open Federation.Remarkable only  two pigeons of over 14,000 birds in the last three races in the Lanarkshire federation have been in front of these guys.Brilliant   -   Mio Krivokapic wins three in a row in Greenfield and takes 2nd section ,Some flying and tops the average board.
