Kelso 2 23/4/16
This week we returned to Kelso in the Scottish borders, it was better for the training of the birds and the numbers are up with 5,600 away over the federation for this sprint race.
The day dawned to a bright and frosty morning with the bright sunshine but still a chill in the air. The race controller made an excellent decision to hold them till 10 30 am and the birds bolted up the road into Lanarkshire in the North West wind doing well into the 1300s.Remember the day you would be around the 1000yds per minute for a North West wind.Excellent returns reported throughout the federation this week, the hawks must have had a public holiday! The federation was won again in the west section of the federation to the loft of all time great Jim Hannah of Greenfield club. Well done to Jim send me a photo for publication please.
