Double Lanarkshire federation winner breeds Double Lanarkshire federation winner

This week we returned to Wooler in Northumberland for our second race of the season, there was a significant increase in birdage with 4,792 Lanarkshire birds and 18 other crates from other organisations on board.

The birds were liberated at 08 30  am in a North west

wind, the winner took 1 hr 38 minutes with a velocity of 1400 ypm.

The partnership of James and Gary Green had a breath taking performance winning 1st,2nd,3rd,4th,8th Open federation.

The winner was a consistent YB winning a minor prize 16th sect,39th Open 2881 birds.

As a yearling racing down the west route he was lightly raced out to 200 miles then sent to Annan come back race winning 1st sect,1st Open federation 682 birds.

He was our timer last week Wooler 1 winning 6th club ,7th sect,20th Open 3,300 birds and the topping the federation this week from 4,792 birds.

Thanks to Jim Hannah for allowing us to purchase this brilliant hen. 

As highlighted, this is a unique winner as his mother also won 2 x 1st Open federations for Jim Hannah before being purchased by the Green partnership.

This hen has bred 3 x 1st Open Lanarkshire federation winners and 6 x 1st section winners and many more prize winners.

Overall it was a good race with only one or two birds missing, so we move on to Alnwick next week with great expectations.
