Lanarkshire News- Bubwith Race

This week takes us to Yorkshire in England around 187 miles back to Lower Central, Scotland.

We had a convoy of 3,545 plus 34 other crates from other organisations were liberated at 09 30 in a light North wind in lovely sunshine.

The winner recorded a time of 4hrs and a velocity of 1375 to the loft of Alex Stewart of Clarkston club, his winner is a two year old mealy pied hen flown on the natural system. This hen also recorded 2nd club last week 11th sect, 47th Open 4,781 birds.

This is Alex's first year flying them on natural system and although they had a slow start his birds are certainly warming up to the system.

The birds were trained once this week from 20 miles south of loft.

Well done Alex on your cracking performance.

It was a very tight finish between Alex and fellow club mate Davie Love, with Alex winning the photo finish.

Alex stating his winner dropped like a stone to the trap. Unlucky Davie your flying great!

The race was better than last week with more consistency of returns in first hour, but again a number of birds didn't home and with heavy rain and mist the next morning they would struggle.
