Out of Desborough Club 9 members sent 155 birds. J. Gateley took 1st club doing 1182.507 flying a distance of 59mls 260yds. His pigeon GB07D40336 was bred down from Jeremy Wright stock. 2nd club went to D.Hadley doing 1178.979 flying a distance of 61mls 772yds. His pigeon GB08D37305 is doing Derrick proud, as it did last season as we had a training race and Derrick won easily. Mr & Mrs C Thorpe netted 3rd club doing 1166.543 flying a distance of 60mls 186yds. Their pigeon GB07X06759 clocked in at 15.30.41. Mr & Mrs C Thorpe also took 4th club doing 1160.570yds. N & A Marlow netted the 5th club, with bird GB06D40041 doing 1158.599, flying a distance of 60mls 238yds.
Corby Town
A total of 79 birds from 6 members, were sent to the Retford race point. R. Fairbairn took 1st, 2nd, 3rd club places. His 1st & 2nd birds were Van Reets, and his 3rd home was a Jan Arden.
Only 13 birds were clocked on the day.
Corby Town - Pontefract 18/04/09
Nine members sent 116 birds to Pontefract racepoint. J. Czarnota snapped up the 1st club place, doing 1717. His bird was a Blue Chq Jan Arden yearling cock. The 2nd club went to Mr & Mrs Stanton's Blue Van Reet cock, doing 1709. J & L Power netted 3rd club with a 3yr old Blue Chq cock, doing 1702.
Wellingborough North Road
Out of W.N.R, 7 members sent 131 birds to Retford race point. W.F.Line/Son/G.Son took 1st & 2nd club doing 1210/1150. Laurel and Hardy's first home was a Chq Hen, bred out of a blue cock that Mick Smith Trio from Wymington had gifted them. This cock bird came 1stclub/fed from Alnwick in 2008. The dam was a Chq Pied, bred out of a Blue Pied cock called '08'. Their 2nd home was a Blue Pied Hen, bred by Phil Lane of Kempston. Sent feeding a week old pair of young ones. Alan "Pensioner" Neville netted 3rd club, doing 1129. Dave " Darn Good" Gent took 4th club, doing 1095. The hens really showed the cocks how it's done, ha!
Wellingborough North Road - Pontefract 18/04/09
Seven members sent 73 birds to the racepoint. D.Gent took 1st, 3rd, 4th club places, doing 1754/1743/1714. 2nd club went to A."Pensioner" Neville, doing 1747. 5th club went to W.F.Line/Son/G.Son, doing 1664. We had a much better race this week, so I guess the lads were all praying hard.

Not a good start to the season, with bad weather and returns not good. A lot of W.N.R birds are still missing in action. Hopefully all missing birds will be home safe and sound soon.
