Liverpool Central FC & Kirkdale WMHS Prize Presentations 2013

Hello folks,

This week we catch up on a couple of prize presentations, beginning with a report from fellow scribe Danny Pearson on the Liverpool Central FC do.

The Liverpool Central Flying Club held its prize presentation in the Dockers Club on Friday 1st November. The night is usually a low key event with mainly members and the locals from the Dockers having a free night. Terry Shawcross does a fantastic job every year selling spot the balls with proceeds going behind the bar (thanks Terry). This year again was a brilliant night with the likes of Tommy Hughes, Jimmy Turner, Wally Vickers, Colin Yates, Tommy Hibbs and Jimmy Mannion to name a few (oh and also John Porter who came along when he heard about the free bar lol). The buffet was supplied by our very own Debbie Walsh, who once again gave the members a full belly to soak the beer up. The guest of honour was the brilliant racing partnership of Brian & Simon Maguire, who the members would like to thank and also for giving us all a laugh throughout the night.

Local entertainer Tony the Pony kept the evening’s entertainment flowing along nicely with a mixture of solo performance and karaoke and it was in the wee small hours of Saturday morning the last of those in attendance made their weary, but cheery way home.

The Kirkdale members would like to thank everyone who attended for their support and for making the night a memorable one and hopefully 2014 will see you all back again. Special thanks also to John Rimmer for doing another fantastic job.

Thanks to Danny Pearson, John Jones, Vin Maguire and Mandy Watkins for getting the above information to me and apologies for not being able to attend myself, hopefully something I will be able to put right in 2014.

Congratulations to the Kirkdale prize-winners with special mention going to Vin Maguire who will once more be the man to catch in 2014, good luck to you all my friends.
