Peterborough - June 2012

Hello, and sorry about the delay with this week's write up. Over the last 2 weeks the UP NORTH COMBINE have had a coule of races. The first one I will start with is the Peterborough race which was held on the 10th of June. This race was a come-back race which we missed earlier in the season, and it was held on the Sunday after the Clermont race. The birds were basketed early on the Saturday morning due to the Clermont birds being held over on Friday, so pick-up times were sharp just in case the channel birds were going to do fast times. I have already done the Clermont race in last week's report so here goes with the Peterborough reports that I have at hand up till now.

Section 2 Gateshead Fed/ Peterborough, lib 07-10 light west wind.

The top 4 birds were clocked in a min and 13 secs. The first bird was a 2 year old mealy hen that has a couple of turns now to its name but it's the first time it has scored this year; she took 3hhrs 22mns 4 secs to cover the 174 miles and was doing 1519-47.
