Saturday September 16th saw the blue riband event for the Derby Burton & District South Road Federation and the final race of their 2017 season from Carentan.
The pigeons were liberated at 09-00 with no wind given. In Derby Premier Paul & Lynda Todd got the red card with a blue cock which was bred by Jake Harcup doing 1023 also taking fourth position with a cheq hen doing 921. In second position with a blue pied hen doing 1016 was Mr & Mrs Noel Wylie with Simon Woolley in third with a b/pied cock doing 984.

The Burton & South Derbyshire Federation were at Blandford and the pigeons were liberated at 09-45 in a North West wind.
Getting the first two pigeons into Derby and taking the top two positions in Osmaston Park Homing Society was John & Steve Hicks. Their winner was a blue cock doing 1245 followed by a blue hen doing 1228. In third & fourth positions was S & H W Hall with a blue cock doing 1217.8 and a blue hen doing 1217.7.

In Ilkeston Bulls Flying Club John & Pamela Dowd took the first three positions doing 1275,1274 & 1257. In fourth position was Roger & Mark Duffield doing 1253.

In Etwall & District Flying Club A.Peach & Son took three of the first four positions with a blue cock taking the red card which was bred by Tony & June Whitehurst doing 1189 then a mealy hen doing 1177 followed by a cheq hen doing 1168. In second position with a ch/w/f cock doing 1182 was Dave Williams & Son.

In the Brackens South Road Flying Club Paul & Lynda Todd took top spot with a b/pied hen doing 1187 with Johnathon Woodward taking the next three positions with a blue hen doing 1180 followed by a ch/pied cock and a dark hen both doing 1178.
