Saturday August 5th and the Burton & South Derbyshire Federation were at Cheltenham for the second race in their young bird programme.

The pigeons were liberated at 08-00 in a west south west wind.

Getting the first pigeon into Derby and taking the red card in Osmaston Park Homing Society was Mick Stone with a blue cock doing 1551 followed by a Dk/ch hen doing 1510 to take fourth. Putting the icing on the cake for Mick was topping the Burton & South Derbyshire Federation getting his second fed win this year. Excellent performance Mick.

In second position was Dave Glew with a b/pied cock doing 1523 with Dave Waddington in third with a red hen doing 1515.

In Etwall & District Flying Club Alan & Liz Houldsworth made it a clean sweep with a dark cock doing 1541 followed by a blue cock doing 1540 then a cheq hen doing 1520 with a blue cock doing 1516 to take fourth.

In the Brackens South Road Flying Club Paul & Lynda made it a clean sweep with a blue cock doing 1539 to take the red card with three blue hens doing 1538,1534 & 1534.

In Ilkeston Bulls Head Flying Club Mr & Mrs Slack take the red card doing 1406 with Mr & Mrs K Haslam & Son taking the next three positions doing 1395,1390 & 1389.

The Derby Burton & District South Road Federation were at Windrush and the pigeons were liberated at 08-10 in a north west wind. Making a clean sweep Derby Premier was Paul & Lynda Todd.Their first two were Dk/ch cocks doing 1473 & 1467 followed by two cheq hens 1466 & 1439.
