Saturday May 3rd and both the Burton & South Derbyshire Federation and the Midlands Combine were at Marlborough with The Burton & South Derbyshire Federation getting theirs away at 10-35 in a North West wind.
In Etwall & District Flying Club 5 members sent 97 birds with A.Peach & Son continuing to dominate with their in form loft making it a clean sweep once again. Their winner was a three year old dk/wf cock doing 1304 followed by a yearling grizzle cock doing 1283 then a two year old b/wf hen doing 1273 with a three year old cheq hen doing 1263 to take fourth.

In Holbrook Miners Welfare 10 members sent 257 birds with B & S Stone opening their account for the season doing 1301 with Russ Bailey doing 1289 & 1286 to take second & fourth.

In third was John Dowd doing 1287.
Osmaston Park Homing Society had 15 members sending 205 birds with Dave Waddington getting back to back wins. His winner was a two year old cheq cock doing 1289 followed by a five year old cheq cock doing 1287.4 to take second.

In third was S & H W Hall with a yearling cheq pied hen doing 1287.1 with Alan & Liz Houldsworth in fourth with a yearling blue hen doing 1285.

It was also the first of the show races for all those members who participated in the shows last November / December. With a special mention to Garry Fletcher who was the show's main sponsor giving the final total a big boost. ( Thanks Gary ).The winner of this one was Dave Waddington winning £30 with a two year old cheq cock doing 1289 followed by Mick Stone winning £20 with a three year old blue cock doing 1265.In third with a three year old cheq hen was Alan & Liz Houldsworth winning £15.Fourth place went to Hall & Torry with a yearling mealy hen doing 1226 winning £10.In fifth with a smoky blue hen doing 1169 was Steve Stone followed by Mick Willis & Family with a yearling blue hen doing 1169.Then came Stewart Wainwright with a yearling blue cock doing 1167 followed by Shenton Brothers ( Ron & Norman ) with a two year old cheq cock doing 1016 and finally Paul Adams doing 733 with a two year old red hen. The last five members all winning £5 each.

The Midlands Combine liberated theirs at 10-00 o-clock in a north west wind. In Derby Premier 4 members sent 64 birds and making it back to back wins with a podium finish were Mr & Mrs P Todd ( Paul & Lynda ).Their winner was a yearling blue cock a previous winner as a young bird doing 1295 bred from his Steve Foster Lambrechts, followed by a yearling blue hen doing 1285 then a four year old cheq hen doing 1260 to take third. In fourth were the partnership of Glew & O'Donnell ( Dave & Sheamus ) with a red cock doing 1246.

In Holbrook Miners Welfare 9 members sent 191 birds and it was a clean sweep for Russ Bailey taking the first four positions with his first two pigeons well clear of the field doing 1490,1489 with his next two pigeons both doing1472.
In Osmaston Park Homing Society 14 members sent 169 birds with the Little Eaton Loft of S & H W Hall taking the red card with a two year old blue cock doing 1482 followed by Mick Stone with a yearling blue cock doing 1469 to take second. Taking third were John & Steve Hicks with a two year old blue pied cock doing 1451 followed by last week’s winner Dave Waddington with a three year old blue cheq cock doing 1434 to take fourth.

Their winner was a yearling hen doing 1455 followed by a three year old hen doing 1433 then a blue pied yearling cock and a blue yearling hen both doing 1432 to take third & fourth.
The Midlands Combine got theirs away at 09-00 hours in a light easterly wind and in Derby Premier 4 members sent 70 birds with Paul & Lynda Todd getting a podium finish. Taking the red card was a three year old cheq hen doing 1444 winning its second race of the season also winning in Osmaston Park Homing Society in 2024.This was followed by a two year old blue hen doing 1423 then a yearling blue pied hen doing 1415.In fourth were Glew & O'Donnell with three year old a blue hen doing 1335.
Saturday May 17th May and it was a disappointing weekend for the Burton & South Derbyshire Federation members as there was no racing for them due to the transporter breaking down.
Derby Premier Flying Club had 4 members sending 41 birds and were at Chale racing alongside the Derbyshire & South Yorkshire Federation and the Northern Classic.
The pigeons were liberated at 12-15 in a light east wind. Taking the first three positions were Mr & Mrs P Todd. ( Paul & Lynda.) The winner was a four year old blue hen doing 1304 followed by two three year old cheq hens doing 1293 & 1276. In fourth were Glew & O,Donnell with a three year old grizzle hen doing 1205.

The Burton & South Derbyshire Federation and the Derbyshire & South Yorkshire Federation put their races back 24 hours due to the bad weather which was forecast for the south of the country on Saturday 24-05-2025.
Burton & South Derbyshire Federation got theirs away Sunday morning at 10-15 from Blandford in a strong west wind. In Osmaston Park Homing Society 14 members sent 155 birds and getting his third red card of the season was Dave Waddington with a two year old blue cock doing 1571 and getting the icing on the cake for Dave by topping the Burton & South Derbyshire Federation ( Well done Dave ).Taking second & third was the Little Eaton loft of S & H W Hall with a yearling cheq hen doing 1567.8 and a two year old cheq cock doing 1567.4 these two pigeons taking 2nd & 3rd Federation. followed by Mick Stone with a yearling ch/wf hen doing 1542.
Five members sent 66 birds to Holbrook Miners Welfare with the man & wife partnership of Mr & Mrs Ken Salt. ( Ken & Hilda ) taking three of the first positions. Their winner was doing 1554 with the next two pigeons doing 1541 & 1540. In second was the ever present Russ Bailey doing 1551.

Derby Premier who were convoyed Derbyshire & South Yorkshire Federation got theirs away at 09-45 from Marlborough and were liberated in a strong west wind. In Derby Premier 3 members sent 61 birds with Mr & Mrs P Todd. ( Paul & Lynda ) taking the top three positions with a three year old cheq hen doing 1506 taking the red card, followed by a yearling blue hen doing 1502.4 then a three year old cheq hen doing 1502.2.In fourth with a two year old blue cock doing 1448 were Glew & O'Donnell ( Dave & Seamus ).
Saturday May 31st and the Burton & South Derbyshire Federation were at Blandford once again and the pigeons were liberated at 10-55 in a south west wind.
15 members sent 173 birds in Osmaston Park Homing Society and taking the red card with a three year old cheq hen doing 1818 were Mr & Mrs P.Todd ( Paul & Lynda. ).
In second was last week's winner Dave Waddington with a two year old cheq cock doing 1810 with Mick Stone taking third with a three year old blue cock doing 1808.In fourth with a four year old ch/wf hen doing 1798 was S & H W Hall.
It was also the second of the clubs show races .Top of the pile and winning the first prize was Dave Waddington with a two year old cheq cock doing 1810 winning £30 followed by Alan & Liz Houldsworth winning £22.50 with a yearling ch/wf cock doing 1738.Next came Mick Stone winning £17.50 with a cheq w/f hen doing 1712. Shenton Brothers ( Ron & Norman ) took fourth winning £12.50 with a two year old cheq cock doing 1699.Next came Stewart Wainwright winning £10.00 with a yearling blue cock doing 1634 and finally Hall & Torry winning £7.50 with a yearling cheq hen doing 1592.

Etwall & District Flying Club had 6 members sending 103 birds. Making it a clean sweep as the A.Peach & son band wagon rolls on taking the first four positions. Their winner was a 4 year old cheq hen doing 1798 followed by a 6 year old blue hen doing 1790.9 then a 2 year old cheq hen doing 1790.4 with a 5 year old b/w/f hen doing 1790.2.

Continuing to dominate were Mr & Mrs P.Todd ( Paul & Lynda ) getting a podium finish with the winner a three year old blue cock doing 1716 followed by a three year old cheq hen doing 1671 then a four year old blue hen doing 1650 to take third. In fourth with a three year old grizzle hen doing 1547 were Glew & O'Donnell ( Dave & Sheamus ).
