DERBY NOTES

Saturday May 13th and the Burton & South Derbyshire Federation were at Kingsdown with the pigeons being liberated at 12-00 in a south west wind.

The first pigeon into Derby was a three year old cheq hen doing 1944 and was feeding two youngsters which took the red card in the Brackens South Road Flying Club doing the honours for Brailsford & Doyle.In second & third positions was Reuben Hough with two two year old hens doing 1887 & 1886 followed by Mr & Mrs Jason Phillips in fourth with a two year old mealy pied cock doing 1809.

Roger & Mark Duffield Ilkeston Bulls Flying Club Winners.

In Ilkeston Bulls Head Flying Club R & M Duffield take the red card with a two year old blue hen doing 1975 followed by Mr & Mrs K Haslam & Son in second with a yearling cheq cock doing 1957.In third position was Rick Shelton with a yearling cheq cock doing 1955 with Mr & Mrs Slack in fourth doing 1943 with a yearling blue cock.

In Etwall & District Flying Club Alan & Liz Houldsworth take the first three positions doing 1923.6,1923.4 & 1914.2.Their winner was a two year old cheq cock followed by a two year old blue cock then a three year old blue cock.In fourth position was A.Peach & Son with a yearling blue hen doing 1889.

In Osmaston Park Homing Society Hall & Torry get the winner with a yearling cheq pied hen doing 1912.With S & H W Hall in second position doing 1910 with a cheq flighty cock ( These two pigeons were nest mates and were bred by S & H W Hall ).In third position was Dave Waddington with a three year old red cock doing 1910.0 followed by Mick Stone in fourth doing 1906 with a three year old blue cock.

Derby Premier were at Portland with the Derby Burton & District South Road Federation and were liberated at 11-00 in a south west wind.Taking three of the first four positions was the Oakwood loft of Paul & Lynda Todd.Their winner was a yearling cheq hen doing 1825 followed by a three year old cheq cock doing 1823 then a four year old cheq hen doing 1788 to take fourth.In third position was John Coote with a three year old b/w/f cock doing 1789.
