Saturday August 2nd 2014 and the Derby Burton & District South Road Federation were at Windrush and the pigeons were liberated at 13-30 in a south west wind.
In Derby Premier it turned out to be a two loft race with Roy Gregory & Son of Mackworth taking three of the first positions. Their winner was a cheq cock doing 1599 followed by a dark cock doing 1586 and finally a cheq hen doing 1552. In second position was last week's winner Neil Croft with a cheq hen doing 1590.
The Burton & South Derbyshire Federation were at Cheltenham and were basketed Saturday for a Sunday race with the pigeons being liberated at 08-30 in a south west wind.
In Ilkeston Bulls Head Flying Club Mr & Mrs John Dowd made a clean sweep taking the first four positions doing 1864, 1862, 1861.7 & 1861.3.
In Osmaston Park Homing Society Mick Stone gets the red card with a blue cock doing 1852. In second & third positions was Ron Hall of Little Eaton with two hens doing 1848 & 1815 followed by Mick Fearn in fourth with a Van Reet cock doing 1736.
In Derby South Road Club Roy Gregory & Son come out on top taking the first two positions with a blue cock doing 1849 and a blue hen doing 1840. Paul & Lynda Todd take third position with a blue cock doing 1797 with Brailsford & Doyle in fourth with a cheq hen doing 1739.
In their five bird section Brailsford & Doyle get the winner doing 1739 with Roy Gregory & Son in second & third positions doing 1655 & 1528 and Paul & Lynda Todd in fourth doing 1464.
In Etwall & District Flying Club A. Peach & Son get the red card with a black cock doing 1739. In second position with a blue hen doing 1722 was A & C Perry with Mr & Mrs T Childs & Son in third & fourth positions with a cheq cock doing 1702 followed by a cheq hen doing 1680.
In the Silver Ghost Homing Society Tom Chadwick took three of the first four positions. His winner was a cheq pied hen doing 1677 which was bred by Ernie Barker and his second pigeon doing 1590 was a cheq pied hen bred of the Gaunty cock followed by a b/ch cock doing 1567. In second position was Alan Beastell with a blue Soontjen hen doing 1604 bred by club mate Jason Phillips.
